Buying a new digital camera!

Car  Civic Vtec y0
Hi Folks

Going to treat myself to a new camera as mine packing in on holiday. Wanting to spend about £200 but would like a jobby that you can put different lenses on and stuff as I am going to take a photography course soon so want to have some decent'ish kit for learning the ropes

I have sourced this, http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produ...9.Photography>C$cip=50498.Digital+cameras.htm

Would any one recommend something like this as a good beginner camera?

Cheers

^^ cant put lenses on that can you?
lol dont know, thats what im wanting to find out

Only with adapters and converters afaik. In other words, you will screw a converter on to the front of the fixed lens. Not the best idea as they aren't fool proof. Dslr gives you more scope for adaptability, but for that money, I'm not sure what bang you will get for your buck these days, as I hve already got my kit. Second hand maybe?

Unless your willing to enter the world of film SLR, your going to need to boost the budget a little....

If you just want a compact though the Canon IXUS 850IS looks ace... not sure if it has any manual modes mind...

Just ordered my Panasonic fz8 from ebuyer. Amaxing camera for the price (£189) and although you cant change lenses, the 12x optical zoom and image stabiliser is more than enough for an amateur looking to learn about photography.

Decided to buy the one I posted about, tbh im well chuffed with it for the money. Need 2 get myself a memory card tho, think the camera memory holds about 6 photos lol

Thanks for all your views and help guys!
