caf for espace box

  172cup
Hello,
I've finally got my hands on a Jms induction kit i know the caf is not essentially needed but i want to give it a shot.
i measured the airbox hole and would need a 140mm duct, that sound massive to me!?!
Obviously going to remove the acoustic valve to gain some room.
Should i go for a 140mm duct with jubilee clip or just fit a smaller one (70ish mm)and let it loosely in place?

Ive already did my own reserch just didnt find anything about it.

Cheers

it's 102mm dia. If your going to run a CAF, don't connect it to the airbox, have it coming up from the acoustic valve and directed at the airbox so the airbox can breathe from all around the entrance.

Have a look between the upper grille and the passneger headlight and you will see metal directing air towards the airbox already.

I had a look at it, i just want to get rid of the caf that run to the acoustic valve.
Maybe i can remove it without touching horn and acoustic valve, has anyone ever tried to pull it off form the bonnet ? is it gonna come off?

no i believe not, you need to remove some of the inner wheelarch and remove and disconnect stuff. You will however really struggle to feed the 102mm feed down there, so do'nt. The feed will be folded and bend therefore be restrictive which defeats the purpose . I tried it, ended up just pointing a short bit of feed towards the headlight, there is some cold air coming through here anyway.

TBH there is really little need for an extra CAF. Remove the acoustic valve and the standard CAF and maybe attach a 102mm hose to your airbox that extends further into the area behinf the headlight if you must do something to it

yep mate i wont do that, i wanna just take the caf out of the way and leave the valve and everything.
i need space up near the battery to feed from the front grill..
However i think i need to remove the wheelarch to get rid of the bottom caf its solidly attached to the valve.
Cheers
