Cage fabrication

im after a proper cage, not show, i want it to be functional rigidity wise....im not after a full one, just half...i.e >seats back....whats best, welded in? or bolted through the floor and bolted on where it diagonally comes down?

also, im after a strut, not one that bolts on top of the struts.... with regards to this, whats best, welded in between the struts, or bolted through?

does anyone know any companies that could make either for me? im willing to travel for the right quality and good previous experiences....

cheers :approve:

i tried phoning you like 3 times yesterday, straight to voicemail every time...

ive been phoning cage fab' places today....spoke to a guy who knows you....erm fusion fabrication? he said he could do me one for £340, with two cross braces and the main loop behind the seats, and the diagonal bits to the arches..... problem is, i dont want it chrome, i need it powdercoating...

also contacted another place called fabricage, he said he only does weld in cages at the moment but i dont know if i want that yet....

IMO do it proper or not at all. You need a proper full cage to get the correct mounting points for your harnesses plus you need a whole one to make it work properly.

Forget any place who makes them up unless there quoting you mega money as a proper safe cage design and computer tested is big money.

There also a few places ie OMP/Sparco/Renault sport (ie the CUp etc cars ones)/Safety device which are tested or least FIA approved for racing. (don't forget there a re different levvels of racing though a normal small 6 point cage won't offer the same protection as a full on multi point welded in sheel and won't enter the same racing series.

Hes a stainless fabricator, it wont be what your after.

You need a Safety Devices, OMP or Sparco bolt in 6 point cage. I cant remember which do them for the Clio.

They are already powdercoated black.

Also any chance of these frames before next weekend bud?

^ if you can get mea strut made a size down from yours, il get the frame guy sorted and get them done....and il come down at the end of next week if you can get me one by then.....cost me £60 for the frames.....how much is strut?
