I suupose aslong as you can get a sensor where the calibration is the same as the OEM one, you could fit a bolt in one?
Given that I would be using aftermarket for any project like this, you can calibrate whatever sensor you want (within reason)

K-Tec used to glue them in.
It will work I'm sure. Whether a 2 speed rotrex will work on it is another question
Never seen it done like that. Bracket added to hold the sensor in, or add a hose tail barb and remote locate the sensor is how I've always seen it
