camshaft plugs, gear box side

How do these come out?, tried piercing with with a sharp screw driver and broke it, bit wary of using big screw driver, thanks. A while later, now tried a big screw driver but despite tearing it, it still dosnt want to come out.

Pull it out with a pick or smack the bottom with a punch to push the top out then pull it
