Can anyone shed some light on this??

  clio 172 cup
I have a 2003 '52 plate clio 172 cup. Its has just failed its mot due to the rear brakes showing little to none reading. The garage say that there should be a pin and spring which goes from the rear brake compensation valve to the axle. I have contacted Renault, they supplied me with a brand new compensation valve costing £110, this however wasnt what i required & didnt even come with the spring thats needed.
After numerous conversations with renaults parts advisors & technicians, i am getting told different things. Some say my car shouldnt have a rear compensation valve & that my rear brakes will not show a reading as they are only a parking brake?? Others say the spring has fallen off & that a replacement is not available?? But also said that one off any renault will fit?? Which is just a total contradiction of what they previously said.

As you can imagine im pulling my hair out, as im getting nowhere & my cars stuck off the road!! if anyone has any info that could help it would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

^ Print that off and tell them to shove the re-test fee. MOT stations have known about this for ages, if they actually read the tech sheets they get this wouldn't happen.

Take the valve back to Renault get your money back.

Hopefully this will be an end to it.
Thankfully i managed to get Renault to take the part back & got refunded, will go back to garage tomorrow and hopefully get my car mot'd & back on the road.
