can i get this done (Fitted) for under £300 !!???

  Italian 3.2 V6
i will have approx 350 (MAX!!) to spend in 2-3weeks time and i am currently wanting the followin all done at once...

- De-cat
- Matched Inlets
- Re-map

i can get matched inlets (with PTFE gaskets) sent to me for 120 so that leaves me with 230 (MAX) to get rest of gear AND fitted..

JMS tuning do a remap at 135 and would prob fit all the gear then remap it but i dont know if this is a custome remap to tie everything i have togetha which is what i am after, i have not spoke to them as yet tho..

iirc a new de-cat costd about 100..?

but is all the above done and fitted possible is this possible!?

any1 got a decent De-cat for sale!? which de-cat is best to get and where from!?

any help and pointers would be great!!!

cheers, piers.

tbh, your better keeping your money in your pocket. I've been there and done it all on the Cup and 182, and imo its just not worth it. Suspension/brakes yes, the rest......meh You might pull a car length over another 172

so with the JMS remap, is it pointless since its not custom.. i was after a custom one to tie my exhaust system, decat, pannel filet and matched inlets.. or would this remap be as good to go for!?

Its not pointless but it wont get you the full preformance out of your mods.

If you are planning to drive to surrey to get it, it would be cheaper to buy your own RStuner and do it yourself.

There are plenty of ppl closer to casile that can do you a RStuner map if thats what you want.

You can do custom maps with a RStuner but it means sending the Cal file back and forth to Henk.

ok, how much to the custom ones tend to be!? 250+?

For a live map such as RStuning do yes, because it requires a dyno and the map has to be done there and then.

Not sure how much a fast chip custom map is, but you basically need to do power runs on the road with the lap top plugged in, then email the files. Henk alters them, do this a few times to get it correct.

It will be exactly the same. Ill just need an old cat to get the length right. Ill even cut the flanges on the laser at work!!

  Italian 3.2 V6
ok so a custom map is gona be twice as much if not more than the rempa JMS do.. is the custom one worth twice as much..!!?? as i could maby get all this actually done for under my budget..

-matched inlets (+PTFE gaskets) = 120
-Remap = 135
-Decat (next to nawt from dangle172 lol)

Well why not get a RStuner and do a RStuner custom map you self???

The you get a custom map, you have the RStuner that you can use for diagnostics, you can also do another map at a later date when you add more mods.

I can do it whenever you want but as i say ill need a look at the sizes and stuff first. Just £20 or something to you mate. IF my car's running well enough ill be there to race you lol

Huge waste of £350 for less than 10 horsepower.

Buy some better brakes.

oh nice one!! thats great! lol would be a good laugh if u could make it!

surely i would be able to acheive more than 10bhp.. !? saying that i do want to upgrade my front brakes : Brembo HC Discs + DS2500 Pads + KTR Stainless Brake Lines ... which would cost 225... lol.

RStuners are like paint by numbers i dont see how people struggle, carl does them for Northeast people. sure he would do you one if you drove to bishop auckland.

you might get 11bhp then nothing really more. (unless you get you car rolling roaded at motorscope of somewhere :rasp:)

Braided lines, decent pads + disc FTW

You get what you pay for. Is it better spending 150 on mapping for zero effect or 350 for something thats going to make a difference?

Trek to Surrey if thats what you were planning would be best part of 100 quid in fuel and food.

Also that decat needs a dished recess for the mesh to slot in for the fitting kit. Far far better buying one as its going to be hard to seal if your using a squared faced flange not to mention if the curve is ever so slightly out. Janspeed is roughly 130 quid area for a silenced one.

  Italian 3.2 V6
ok so this is becoming a bad idea lol... so, which one out of the three would be the most effective to go for do you reckon!? want to get atleast one of them plus the brake upgrade which most ppl seem to be backin up for spending my money..

matched inlets or JMS remap!?

  2005 Nissan Navara
Instead of being hung up on what power its making, try and concentrate on how your improving the driveability.

Ive matched LOTS of inlets on the RS range, and ive NEVER had anyone comeback from a test drive without saying words to the effect of "suprised at the difference"..you DO get a significance jump in mid-range accln and throttle response. From the ones ive had on a dyno this tends to be around 10lb.ft midrange torque gain, maybe 7/8/9bhp on averga peak gain.

As for the remap/re-flash, well for £150 its a no brainer, its better than std but yor not paying full whack for a custom job---i bet theres little difference in it in terms of drive OR figures between "custom" or a re-flash, considering the work Henk has put into his maps, and the ammount of adaption modern ecu's run. Henk has files available for a range of mods, including matched inlets.
Yes, you could buy an RS-Tuner and DIY, but not everyone is comfortable with that. ALot of people would likely just rather pay for someone to do it for them--hassle free.

My money would be going on inlets and a re-flash. At the end of the day £300-350 is not big money in the engine tuning game, but these mods are definately best bang for buck given this budget.

  Italian 3.2 V6
well the inlets i will be buying were originaly done at Jamsport so i assume they will be good ones.. so if i got figure like what stan has said i would be happy with just buying the matched inlets which i can get for 120 plus buyin the brake upgrade for 225.. which all falls under budget at 345 (just), and from what you guys have said i think this seems the best option, seen as buying the RStuner map and ding it myself would be costly and i dont know what the hell im doing whith it so would prob end up hassle lol.

agree!?

  Italian 3.2 V6
are matched inlets (with gaskests) easy to change!? could a r****d like me do it easy!?

  Astra 1.9Cdti SRi
yes its not that hard p4ers, the top part is easy, just take abit more time with the bottom part.. all you need iirc is a 11/13mm socket

  H&R + Pole Position'd Cup
Yeh easy as pie if you can use a torque wrench and read the guide on here.
