Can somebody explain this part of my warranty please?

Car  Clive the Clio no. 2
I was reading through my warranty as my car is going in under warranty work, but i was reading this now and im not sure what this bit means:

Any components of the Vehicle that have been changed following the Delivery Date and the
consequences (including but not limited to damage, premature wear, alterations) of such changes on
other parts or components of the Vehicle or on the Vehicle's specifications
- Any routine servicing agreed with the Customer on purchase of the Vehicle, recommended by
RENAULT, detailed in the Warranty and Services Booklet (provided with the Vehicle) or which the
Customer chooses to undertake.

Does it mean that if say i lower my car, and my shocks break then its not covered by warranty? but if i lower it and say the boot catch breaks i am still covered?

Yes i think so. If you have modified the car from the original speck then it is not covered but they could turn around and say you have been tampering with lock.

the car is going in because of the boot catch, it wont lock,

so its just the part directly affected by the modification?

e.g lowering = suspension not covered
Air filter = engine not covered

I dont think its about that, probably Renault think if u've lowered it, then u're more than likely to tamper/modify some other parts of the car.

is that any modification or just performance enhancing ones?

I mean all ive done to the car is added alloys, lowered it and colour coded lol.

but if its going to be a massive problem then i will put the OEM springs back on.

Best idea?

dont they have to prove your modifiction has possibly led to the fault you are experiencing?

so in this situation, shocks and boot locks are not related, so you will be fine.

i think thats how it works.

As long as the mod doesn't relate to the problem. I think it just comes down to wether the person you are dealing with is going to a cnut or not.
