Can somebody help me with exhaust problems?

  Flame Red Delight
Hi

I am having problems fitting my exhaust on my car. I bought a phase 1 172 exhaust being told that it would fit onto my car. But now as i have taken it down to the local garage(not Renault) have been told that i would need a new link pipe. I was just wondering if somebody could tell me straight will this exhaust actually fit? before i take this exhaust to a Magnex specialist, to try and get it fitted. Please will somebody help.

Cheers

I have been told that i would need a magnex link pipe to fit it onto the car, as i thought it would just need a spacer to make up the diameter of the pipe so that it is the same width as the standard link pipe but i was told that would not work. Was just wondering if there is any way of getting this exhaust fitted or is it just better to sell it and get another one. Ad i don`t think magnex have such a link pipe.

then thing is that i was told that the 172 pipe diameter is too big so i need to make the diameter of the standard pipe up and also i was told that it requires alot of work just wondering if it was worth the hassle or should i just buy a new back box?

if i should buy a new one anyone know a decent place to buy an exhaust not one of the cheap and nasty ones.

Why not get pipework made up from a custom exhaust place and get them to fit the back box too? Usually its the back box that costs the most so doubt it would come to too much?

i think the diameter of the 172 exhaust is 2.25" and the lesser spec ones 2.0" so you would indeed have to have it altered to fit,
thats how i understand it , i may be wrong though

Yea well there is a magnex specialist up the top of Scotland do you think they would be able to get a link pipe that would be suitable?

Any custom zorsticle place could do it, I would get new pipework from the cat to the backbox with a new centre section. (all imo of course)
