Can you record tv etc onto PS3 hard drive?

Morning all,

Quick question, i'm in the market to buy a new home cinema setup and a console. Before i do i just wanted to know if i could use the PS3 to record anything off the television? Would like to know rather than buying a seperate piece of kit.

Course you can, you can install linux on it.. then use a usb tuner or simmilar

indeed, the only thing holding you back really is the HDD size, would need an external one as well if you can.
