Canon EOS 450D, £380?

Been offered one brand new for £380, and ive no idea about cameras!

Its for the g/f for christmas, she's coming from a point and shoot digital camera, so is this a wise choice, or are there cheaper ones that're more suited to a relatively new photographer?

For about 100 notes less you could get a 400D + 18-55 from the Official Canon refurb store. Could buy her a cheap but nice lens like the 50mm f/1.8 with the difference.

With the EF S18 - 55 Lens it says?

Says it cost her £500 but then her b/f split up with her so shes selling it

Sounds right, should come with the newer 18-55 that has IS (Image Stabliser) and is much much better than the Non-IS version.

i just got a 40d body next t new for the same price

the 450d can be got for £392 new, with the £50 cashback from canon so i wouldn't pay that for a second hand one
