Car Dealers RIP OFF!.

This morning went to a car dealers to see how much they would give me on trade in for a Clio 1.6 16v on a 54 plate and done 1500 miles. I was interested in trading it in for a Focus ST170 on a 02 plate and done 29,000 miles. They told me that they would give me £5,250 wtf.....

I walked straight out. No way have I lost 5 grand in 8 months?

I know someone who has a 53 plate 172 on finance thats now worth 7.5k - almost half what it was orginally

They salesman said it was because theres alot of pre-regs about?.

its because clios are cheap cars and they have 0 value on resale they just arnt worth anything second hand

its only worth buying brand new if you intend to keep it for a few yrs not months PMSL.

90% of cars lose most of there value in the 1st year. 33%+ depreciation.

We got our 182, was 2 months old and saved almost £4.5k on list price. How gutted was the previous owner.

I will never buy brand new.

i need to sell mine and will probly only get about 10k at a dealer thats about 4.5k less then dealer price brand new only done 7k miles in it.shop about dealers and tell them another dealer offered you more if they havent sold many cars this month they might not be so greedy

Buying brand new it will have lost all that. Used prices are dropping all the time, which is great for the rest of us!

as above, id never buy brand new

partly because I doubt id ever keep a car for over 2 years

but also due to the price and resale value, just no point

Youll be lucky to get £9k now, especially with the new Trophy out.

Plus you can get Brand new UK 182s for less then 12k with CUP Packs
