CarPro IronX/TarX/Hydro02/Reload Vs Octavia VRS *Bleeding Content*

Hello again guys! I was contacted by Scott on here in a panic about his pretty new Octavia VRS, he had worked near a shipyard and he said the car has "some fallout on it"... little did he or I know, it's by far the worst case i've ever come across.

Quick call to the big guy Craig at CarPro and went and picked up some Iron X and new Hydro Lite to trial. As always thanks to Craig, he forever goes out his way to help others where he can.

Onto the damage in question...

Now on to de-tarring. I have used Tardis since I started "detailing", it's been the best on the market for a long time. I was keen to try TarX for a while as I love the CarPro range, i've just finished my last tin of Tardis and was really looking forward to trying this out.

Cost wise it's never going to be great because Tardis is cheap for a gallon in fairness but TarX shocked me at just how good it was.
It softened the tar better, it clung better and I used less. Literally one wipe of the tar spots and they were removed.

Previously I would always double hit a car with tardis to protect my clay/paintwork but one going round with my favourite applicator and TarX and the car was done. I think the lack of dilution by the wash water on TarX really helped it against the tar, it didn't run down the car like Tardis does.

I can't recommend it highly enough and more will be on order, we have a new king in my opinion. Pictures below...

3 Coats it took to leave a clean surface with minimal bleeding left... Almost 2 litres used all in..

Clayed with Bilt Hamber and snowfoam/AS spray wax combo, the claying again made a nice difference also. A quick coat of Hydr02 lite to aid drying and as a trial... beading is fantastic for something that will coat literally everything it touches and takes 5 minutes to use... another brilliant product from CarPro and will keep a car coated for around 3 months.

Inside for drying and light polishing, sealed with CarPro Reload 2014. It's such a strong product and excels on colours like Silver and White, it was the only option.

Some afters, the sun just wouldn't play ball sadly but it's a stunning car in the flesh, very impressed by it inside and out...

Don't think I've seen anyone need to get through quite so much iron x

Have you ever tried the iron x soap gel or snow foam? Only used the gel myself but does a decent job when used as a shampoo or pre wash to help start breaking it down

I was playing about with it to be fair and using snowfoam and IronX underneath. Craigs point was that stuff is for maintenence washes etc. Not quite for a task like this.

Years ago people would just have clayed and polished the paint as best they could.

Fantastic job; i am currently using AF Iron Out but i think i will go back to IronX; great product. Never seen "bleeding" as bad as that.

But late to the game with Tarx dude! Especially knowing Craig so well.

The stuff is brilliant, I won't ever buy tardis again.

Great write up, had no idea about hydro2 lite.

Jesus i don't think I've ever seen paint so badly contaminated!

Sorry if i missed it, what's the difference between Hydr02 and Hydr02 lite then?

I need some more Hydr02, its very impressive stuff for how easy it is to use.

I'll take the opportunity to again thank Gally for sorting this out for me.

The car was a total state as we can all see. I was devestated back in December when I washed it, revealing the true extent of the contamination. I feel like I've got a new car again. I have since left that employer, so hopefully I won't be seeing a repeat.

All I'm trying to imagine is the smell, are your nostrils clear yet gally?

Great job and nice car too.

It's because I had so much Tardis I never thought i'd need to change, this stuff though is immense!

Lite is already diluted around 6/7:1, a bit like Gyeon wetcoat but stronger in my opinion.

Id like to try this hydro 2 lite, i still have wax on my car , would i have to remove this before using hydro 2 ?

cheers

It will go over anything even shocking unprepared paintwork. Can also be used like a spray sealant. wipe on wipe off.

Cor that was a mess before hand. Lovely job there mate, looks gleaming!

Thanks mate, glad Scott was pleased.

It was outside so it wasn't as bad as it could have been, quite windy also! It isn't half as bad as it used to be to be fair!!

absolutely love this picture, would look pretty cool if the whole car was painted like this. (for a day or two)

General washing would only remove freshly settled contaminant from the last few hours. It wouldn't remove imbedded fallout, you need a dedicated iron and fallout remover to break it down first

Mine was almost as bad as that when I got it. But apparently I hadn't washed it properly before de-ironing. Did you?? ;-)
Yeah whoever told you that doesn't understand fallout. That's like trying to wash overspray off.

Ah I remember now, it's weird because the bleeding above looks nothing like the bleeding you experienced...
