Cat cams exhaust pulley stud

Anyone came across this issue with fitting a new exhaust cam stud on cat cams?
With the nut just nipped up (not torqued) Im not getting a full nut and I doubt I would gain 2 - 3 threads when torquing.
Genuine new stud used and wound in until bottomed out on the shoulder. Bit wary to build it like this

Mulled this over for a few days and thought must be ok as even if there was a deeper thread in the cat cams, it wouldn't matter as would still bottom out on the non - threaded shoulder on the stud

Torqued the exhaust cam and low and behold, didnt get enough 'stretch' to gain a full nut.

Have looked at other photos of exhaust cams and they all seem to achieve a full nut. Grabbed the packet out the bin to double check part numbers aswell

Not sure how useful it is as the pulleys are different but this is mine using catcams and the catcams stud. How thick is the OEM exhaust pulley? Could it be that the stud is designed to be used only with the catcams pulleys?
