Cat Q's & Which Sports Cat?

My standard 172 cat is rattling like mad. Passes emissions test but I've been told the honeycomb inside is broken?

Does this sound feasible?

I'm getting a tinny rattle noise on acceleration at 2k and 4k.

It's not the 4k rattle as I've had my centre section replaced 6 months ago.

Renault reckon it's the cat.


Anyway,

After a bit of searching on here, I guess I go for a sports cat. I can't been chewed with swapping a decat back and forth for MOT.

Seems like for the most part, as far as I can find there are two main makers.

K-tec and Janspeed. Which is best from these two? Janspeed is a bit cheaper.

Any others?

Any advice appreciated.

I've got the ktec sports cat and i am impressed with the smoothness of acceleration it gives combined with 182 manifold

i got a 1.6 16v and got the same rattle from the cat but u wanna get it sorted coz now mines totally collapsed and basically undrivable no power at all.

Is is like a quite tinny tinkley noise rather than a rattle?

I'm in two minds as to for go for a second hand cat and risk the same happening again or go for a sports cat.

Anyone got any opinions on the Janspeed one that Demon Tweeks do?
