i know that the factory one is a renault alpine one - and i can pick up a one quite cheap. BUT

i have a Sony 10 disk changer under my bed - would this fit with an adapter or is it worht just getting a nice sony head unit and use the changer i already have?

How much is the cable from renault?? is it easy to wire up as in routing the cables??

Would much appreciate any help!!

yeah it goes under the passenger seat you lose the storage tray, mine has one paid £300 from renault, a VDO unit 6 disc, working of steering wheel remote.

This picture should make sence.

The metal tray is

82 00 082 120 BRACKET CD £6.83 ex vat (part 8 on the drawing)

77 03 044 153 CAGE NUT M6X100 £0.67 ex vat (part 10 on the drawing)

77 03 008 155 BOLT M6X100-20 ME £0.38 ex vat (part 9 on the drawing)

You cannot plug in the Sony CD changer as no cbale works but if you fancy trying to solder up your own cable you might be able to.

And you can move the plastic tray to under the drivers seat.

I took mine out of my old 172. But as you have found out, they made that an option from Mid 2003 onwards.

When I removed it I took out the metal bracket which it attaches too, leaving me just needing to get the cable, which was £86.00.

Its a tight fit though isnt it, I only got round to install it last wekend.

£86 for a cable though is a joke though.

if you dont have anything under drivers seat liike my dynamique used to be like, then put the changer under there and keep the storage under passenger.

I would have had this done but with the sat nav box of tricks under drivers seat there was no choice but to lose the passenger seat storage container.
