Changing indicator bulb (megane)

Car  182 Full Fat
Hi guys, not clio related, but thought a few megane 225 owners who frequent on here may have the answer.

How do you change the indicator bulb on a megane, is it a bumper off job, as it doesn't look like a quick job! Any help appreciated

Cheers

it is impossible to get too, i think it might have to be bumper off, there is a small hole by the wheel arch liner that twists off and it says you can get your hand up there to take bulbs out etc but you cant get anything up there at all

I suspected it might be a struggle to reach into the bay. Renault must make it difficult on purpose, so that you have to take it in them and get charged £30 odd just to get a bulb changed. Anyone else know any tricks??

i tried to take the top part of the bumper/engine bay off and it doesnt do anything so thought i'd tell you

i know yeah, take it to halfords lol, buy a bulb think its bout a quid get them to fit it for £3 etc, see if they can do it, would be a laugh if they could or couldnt lol

Hah, yeah could be funny to stand and watch them attempt to do it. Its for my brother, so I may suggest that to him!

seems the cheapest and easiest way really, if they can do it will cost you about £5 if they cant get your money back for the bulb lol

anyone else had problems with changing the bulbs in meganes? Also does someone have the number for Renault UK as I think its a joke that you have to pay Renault to change a bulb!

Cheers

Yeah my bro paid around £30 to have the headlight bulb changed, so doesn't really want to have to pay again.

Slight bump here..

Has anyone had the cheek to take their megane to halfords and ask them to change a bulb? If so, how much do they charge? Is it a set price or do they charge by the hour for it?

Ta!

They probably know they can be a nightmare to change so will charge a bit for it

I traded the car in instead lol

Seriously? Thats my plan out the window then ;)

Easiest way to do a drivers side headlight bulb? I can get my hand in through the wheelarch but cant see what am doing so it might be a bit tricky to get a new bulb in and connected back up ect!

Halfrauds won't do it. You need to jack the car up to get your hand in the hole. Taking the wheel off is also advisable. Valver16 and I changed the one on his last meggy, we took the bumper off in the end as the last owner had put some kind of putty around the fixings on the back of the lamp unit, making it impossible to remove!!
Took about half hour if memory serves me right, not a difficult job at all to remove and put it back!!

Jack it up, remove arch cover, then you can get your head in there to see what your doing.

They are doable on Meganes through the wheel arch, bit tricky and you will hurt your wrist a bit.
A lot of the time tho if you can just move it slightly it will work again.

Ill probably just remove the bumper again then.

Done that the last time for the other bulb that went but thought it might have been a bit easier through the arch.

f**king renault c***s!

Get a full bulb set and change every bulb in there!! That way you won't need to do it again for a while lol :D

Taking the bumper off is piss easy. I've got it down to a fine art now :)

Sorry i know this is a bit of bump but was looking for indicator bulb threads and noticed this

Had my dipped beam and sidelights changed at halfords £6.99 megane is not on the excluded list. Sorry if this is old news it may help somone
