Managed to get my Girlfriend to help and we had it cracked within 4hours. Its all a bit tight where the old battery used to be but it worked out well i think. The battery joins are a mess as the original won't pull any further to mount it nicely. Thinking of putting the battery cover back on to hide it anyway. Gold heat reflective tape added to a custom made bracket that holds it all together. PMS breather plate setup, think it needs a Black An fitting instead of that cheap Chinese thing. You can see the HT leads are muddled up due to the lengths to reach the plugs.

All in all im very happy with the way its come together. Just needs mapping back up at EFi now :) 8th July can't come soon enough. It sounds epic when giving the throttle a little tickle :)

The RS2 install looks awsome. I think it really cleans the look of the engine bay. It's the noise it makes too! Definately something I would like for my track car.

The AFR's are not the tidiest and its running lean at the top end. Chris stopped what he was doing and said to come back with some 197 injectors :) Will be going back asap as you can imagine. Car runs lovely now and sounds awesome :)

Cars being used all the time. Put nearly 1k in it since mapping. Even with not being able to fully rev it out it's loads quicker due to the added torque :)

Have got hold of a set of 197 injectors ready to be fitted and mappedagain by Chris on the 8th September. Can't wait !!

Nope no showsfor me at all this year !!

  Ftype SVR & E46 M3
Lovely example.

I notice you put 172 cup wishbones, to my knowledge the PH2 172, 172 cup, 182 and 182 cup all use same wishbone? Hope so as I've just ordered new wishbones for my 172 cup and they were listed been suitable for 172, 172 cup, 182 and 182 cup.

Aftermarket don’t have the increased castor of the new Renault ones.

Or so I’m lead to believe anyway.

Fantastic job on the v6, hopefullyit flys through the mot and oh cangetsomemiles in before the weather turns.

So a couple of weekends ago we headed back up to EFI and Chris to have the 197 Injectors fitted and re-mapped accordingly. Was secretly hoping to crack the 200bhp mark.... And it did :) The first run Chris made came out at 201 but the AFR at the top end was out a little. After a few 199.8-9 runs we had 4 consecutive 200bhp runs with everything showing as safe :)

Had a slight issue last weekend !

30429815817_7c343cf54a_z.jpg

Thankfully happened at 3 MPH coming out of a parking spot !!! No lasting damage to the car other than a tyre getting a rather large cut in the tread when the bodywork dropped on to it ! Lucky to say the least as we were going to be heading up to London !

Unsure of what to do with the car this winter. Might store it away as im doing a lot more miles in it now.

Proper weird, never seen that happen before?
You say you were coming out a parking spot, no damage that appears someone has driven into your wheel is there?

Reminds me of trunnions failing on old triumphs

Jesus! Pattern part ball joint?

When rebuilding the suspension it looks like I orderd them from ECP without thinking. Looking back at the paperwork they were all of £18 each! The new ones are from Lemfodder. The quality difference is quite noticeable.

Nope me neither ! My mechanic best mate has only seen it a few times.... usually when it's been at speed ! The other side looked quite bad but no signs of cracks.

Nope no damage.

Been having a spot of bad luck with the car recently. Its not gone into storage yet but that may change fairly soon. Started off the other weekend by running out of Fuel on the M3 ! 45mins later the old man had turned up with a jerry can of V-Power. Ever since the remap with the 197 injectors the reading has been very optimistic. MPG is around 55mpg ?

After that i was having a clean under the hood the other day and noticed some Mayo in the oil catch tank! As you can imagine there was a fair amount of panic! Looks just to be a dodgy seal on the PMS breather plate thankfully as the oil in the engine is unaffected and the coolant is low. By the amount of it i drained out of the catch tank it looks to have been happening for some time. Just need a spare weekend to sort that.

DSC_0422.JPG

Also the other day the felt a little off when accelerating. Then it started running very rough ! Opened the bonnet to find the throttle body plug had come off and taken the lug that secures it on off with it! Got a new one coming soon. Fixed it with a cable tie in the mean time :)

DSC_0424.JPG

Got a new set of PS3 the other day waiting to go on since the other set got damaged when the ball joint failed. Would of swapped them over already but i lost the locking wheel nut ?

And finally the lacquer peel is getting much much worse ?

Sorry about the size of the pictures but i can't stand FlickR any longer... Any other suggestions ?

If you can believe it we've had over a month of no issues or problems !!! ?

Car was with Gary Spooner last week to sort the rear discs and pads. Now with (hopefully) all the gremlins sorted I can focus on the paint. Gary also owns a PB

After the paint is done it might have to make way for something else !!!

After seeing @Tim. Brembo Brackets fail I jacked the car up and checked mine before giving the PB its first wash in 4 Months !!!! All was fine on the Brackets but come pay day I'm still buying the PMS kit.

Car is now all up together Mechanically bar the above. Just need to sort the paint out come April/May. Then it's going up for sale !!

Been a few months since an up date !

Swapped over to the PMS brackets. Found the old ones had badly corroded. When I jacked it up before to look they seemed fine. Once unbolted they crumbled to dust !!! Scary stuff really.

After that the car went to Rentech for a service. All ok other than a issue with the rear drivers caliper and brake pipe. All replaced now.

And then today I swapped over the old batterd carpet for a fresher one without any holes ! Quite a simple job really. Also replaced the foam underneath as that had also worn through.

Still no paint yet as my mate is currently restoring his bosses 3rd Mk1 Escort. Got some PMS spacers coming soon as after fitting the PMS brackets I wasnt able to run wheel weights again !

Those caliper brackets don't look good at all! Good job you played it safe and got some new ones. I wonder how many more are out there like that?
I could have sworn you said you were thinking of selling up earlier in the year? Still enjoying they car then?

All of them I'd imagine!!!

Yea really enjoying the car at the moment. It's not broken down for caused any issues for a while now ?

It may still go but I want to get to near 100% as possible before making my mind up.

Whilst it was in my mate got together a quote to tidy up all the body work and Paint. It will be booked in come payday. Once it's done and I'm happy with it it is 100% going up for sale !
