cleaning, drying, waxing mitts?????

New year, new start! Getting into Detailing but haven't got s**t.

I've got a few products in mind which Im going to be getting hold of.

For cleaning, drying and waxing the car, what mitts do you guys use? do you use different brand mitts for each different process (cleaning, drying and waxing).

Cheers Christophe, do you apply 3 different waxes at once? Or is it just in case you decide to use a different brand of wax?

Do you happen to use a jet washer? Thinking of getting one but not sure what to buy.

i have just been using the 2 bucket method with a standard hose. But my parents have just bought a Karcher and so i have literally just ordered a lancer to foam the car. I'll still be using the two bucket method onto of the foam though.

I only apply SRP and EGP once every 6/8 weeks. They are a polish and a gloss protection. I apply the wax every week though and sometimes a sealent on top.

oo and just got me self lime prime from dodo juice which is a pre wax product. Kinda like SRP and EGP together.

Lime Prime is nothing like either of the above!

It is just a pre wax cleaner, lays no protection down like the SRP.

I just rinse with a watering can ( might grow into a 172 or vee!!)
Then wash using a bobbly mitt thing.
chamious all the water away..then srp using coton cloth to apply and mf to remove.
Then megs quik wax applied using cotten cloth again..and buffed off with mf..bobs your uncle

Indeed wee lad.

3 buckets for the paint, one for the wheels, and one for the arches!

Wash with Eurrow Mitt and a decent shampoo, rinse with the hose, then with a couple of watering cans of Aquagleam filtered water and dont bother drying apart from just the shuts and wheels.

Not sure these days I got mine for 20 quid as someone made a boo boo on there site ! Most seem around the 40 quid mark now.

How long roughly will a filter last Rich, I think this would be more usefull that a foam lance right now to be honest and seems about the same price, £46 is the best I have seen so far.

Mine must be a year old buy now - Limiting it 2 watering cans (20 litres or so a wash) a wash and it appears down to the colour changing particles in it to look about 1/3 gone.

Thats pretty good then...even if I only use it during the summer it will be a lifesaver! That and the foam lance then I can stop buying stuff for a while...although a few Dodo products I'd like to try...got a sample of the Lime Prime I want to try out too at some point.
