Cleaning Silver 172

  Clio MK 4
Over the weekend thought i'd clean the car properly. I aint got any pics at the mo but this is what i did and wondered whether people do the same?

Turtle wax car shampoo
Wax it when wet
alloy cleaner (cnt remembr make)
Auto glym Super resin
Auto Glym Extra gloss protection
Tyre polish

Anything else i should use? Took me ages!!! especially the auto glym products. My arm felt like it was going to drop off lol.

Gutting thing was because its silver I found it was just as shiny when i waxed it and after i had used the auto glym products lol.

oops lol. I washed it and used wax it when wet which was the same process as drying it before i use d the autoglym products. So i should dry it first use autoglym then wax?? But if its wax it when wet then how does it work

Silver is not a great colour to be honest, I dont like using any Turtle Wax products.

Can i ask how and what you used when waxing it wet?i would have waxed it after the polish. You should have some god protection now with the Auto Glym Extra gloss protection because thats good stuff.

Heres mine.

Meq Gold Shampoo
Auto Glym Polish
Colinite

Suppose it depends on the wax but from reading it again it looks like a wax that you spray on when the car is wet and then dry the car. I would miss that stage out if your using the AG twins and get a carnauba wax after the layers of EGP.

i would use the Auto Glym Extra Gloss Protection last yeah, because any water does not stay on it, so you dont want to be putting anything on top

If your arm felt like it was going to drop of using the AG products you where using to much. I would use the Turtle wax after each wash to top up the EGP's protection.

I'd not use the wax for a full detail but get some carnauba wax like P21s or Chemical Guys 50/50 to put on after the AG SRP and layers of AG EGP.

As Rich says keep the wax you have for using after when you just give the car a wash.

thanks for the help guys. So overall should i use the AG gloss before the collenite wax?

Do any of you use electric buffers?

Yes put the sealant on before the wax, remember you can layer the EGP so might be worth doing a couple of layers followed by a couple of layers of the Collinite, should give you very good protection with that combo.

People use machine polishers mainly for polishing and defect removal, you can use for sealants and waxes but I prefer to do these stages by hand.

As said I use a PC for swirl removal, sealant and wax done by hand. Might buff off the wax with the PC if I'm short on time.
