Clio 1.2 16v not firing.....help!

Hi

The car was ok yesterday, I went to goto work this morning and I popped the key into the ingnition tried to fire it up and she doesnt want to play!

So after a few goes it fires up, I thought it might be just some sh*t in the fuel.........

After a long hard days work I just want to go home and see the kids and wife......Try to fire the car up again and it doesnt fire up..........again after a few mins it sparks into life...........I just want a car that works........

what do u guys think the problem could be?

Oh by the way its on a 51 plate

I am going to phone the local garage in the morning if it does it again.

Spark plugs/HT leads/ignition coil /sticky starter motor

do you hear a click when you turn the key and it fails to start?

alright i work for renault and i knoe what the truble is .. its called a TDC senor dose not cost much about £25 for the part and bout 15 mins to fit u could have a go ur self if u know where its is ..

However, its started ok this morning, but not tonight, it took me a fair few goes....

its hard to explain, when I turn on the ignition, It wants to start, it chugs very fast......

but doesnt fire up. Where is the TDC sensor located?

Ok, I have located the sensor!

does it easily come off?

I have read that it could need cleaning.....

or do u guys reakon I should leave it to the experts..............

TDC sensor is on the fly wheel area ie down by where the engine and the box meat.
