clio 1.8 16v induction kits

which type of induction kit should i buy for my clio?and what gains should i get from it?

ill be honest here
ind kits are only good for noise. you lose all low down power and the drive is really boggy especially when its hot. most people run piper x ones as they are good quality and make a mental noise. it sounds the nuts,otherwise get a hill power ind kit. there better but at the end of the day a OE airbox and performance element works the best

if you really want an induction kit id get the hill power one

otherwise get a replacement element

or, if you can afford it you could get a piper X viper and try and make it fit

Definitely leave the air box alone - I had a K&N 57i fitted to my 16v by a so-called Renault specialist who said it would increase power. The only thing it gave me was a slower car (nice roar when I floored it though) so I went back to standard. Get rid of the CAT, which only cost a little more then the K&N 57i kit and you will achieve a better result.

keep the airbox. Change the airfilter for a one that can be washed and by so, that can be reused.
Get rid off the air pipes from cold/hot system. Just fit a pipe directly to the front grid of the car.

If you just replace the element and re-direct the air feed do you get any roar???? Also what does the Hill Power induction kit sound like?? Siggsy

No roar really with an airbox, whatevers inside it and however you route the air feed.

The HP kit is pretty loud, but then again all induction kits are loud cos youve got the throttle body open to the elements behind a thin filter.

ive got a piper x on mine just cos it sounds mental, it sounds like it could probably suck in a small child, downside is the neighbours hate me when i come in at nite, if u heard 1 ud probably bye 1 if ur not arsed about noise stick wiv airbox

Has it slowed it down at all????? How many air feeds have you got going to it??

doesnt seem any slower seems faster cos theres more noise ,but on cold wet nite theres defo more power, only time ive noticed a loss is after bein in traffic for a bit and it gets hot, ive removed the bit of plastic next to foglight and ran some cold air ducting up to the filter

it was 69 quid u dont get any ducting with it though i used what was already on the car and i bit i had in the garage
