Yeah its bloody hard! lol thats why i let my mechanic do it.

While your changing it best to do the idler and tensioner, also if your near 80-90K then get the water pump done as well.

Idler - jocky wheel?

How much is a tensioner and a water pump?

96k miles...

How much does a typical mechanic charge, know that this is a hard question, but just after a rough figure.

Thanks

You can get the cam belt, idler and tensioner as a set from Renault think they retail at about 83(I pay 50;)). Water pump is about 25 from GSF.

Dont forget to use decent coolant Renault also sell this in 5 litre bottles.

Not sure how much you should be looking to have it fitted though. 200 maybe?

BBPERFTUNING do them, tensioner and idle, one is £28 and the other £38, am pretty sure, check there website. I am doing this the now, but took my engine out, to make it easier, not especially difficult, but time consuming and fiddely. Can be done with engine in, but i did not fancy it as space to work there isny. Ktec, hillpower and bb have a fixed price for a cambelt, which is still below £200 i think, which is a bargain as its awkward as hell, but hey will be well used to them!
