What makes you think im going to drive nuts in it anyway? i never said i wanted it for the speed did i? Im not stupid enough to go fast straight away im clevery than ud expect, i like to get used to the car first though, i done 15,000 miles in 4 months. Just so you know i have to park at mc donalds cos am a manager there its sh*t i kno. But avin a valver is jus sumet to say i got. N wen am ready i can jus show ppl up but i wudnt thrash it for a gud while, av sin sense n drive normally dont speed or owt jus on certain special occasions.
lol

Its too easy to get sucked into a bit of competitive driving - I still do it now and you would have thought I would have learnt after 7 years driving!

  Not a Clio

lol

"i never said i wanted it for speed"

think you missed the whole point of buying a valver there then mate.

"im clevery than ud expect"

it certainly shows

"just so you know i have to park at mc donalds cos am a manager"

How very appropriate lol

"but i wudnt thrash it for a gud while"
I beg to differ, the temptation would be too much

I doubt you will take any notice of the posts here and will go ahead and buy a valver anyway. In which case you wont be disapointed with it. Watch out for the garage bills - labour is a killer unless youre handy with cars. Check its had the clutch done as this is an engine out job and isnt cheap. My advice would be to wait until after winter. Going from a 1.2. to a valver is a big jump - I did it myself and you really dont want to be having to get used to it in winter.

It costs 989 for my 1200 mk1, I can drive ive practically drove it to its limits, ive hit 115mph in the 1.2. I have been driving 6months it wont be my first car and frankly the 1.2 is just not fast enough one bit. No power steering or any driving aids its just plain slow even though people say its fast. I NEED a faster car. I havent had any crashes or anything yet either ive just had engine problems. I know what your all saying though, my mates wrapped his 1.6 16v astra a post and into side of a car n he wa driving 2months but he just went crazy with NOS!!! now thats silly if you ask me!
You dont want a Valver for performance reasons!!! Could have fooled me!!!

At the top you say youve driven ur 1.2 to its limits, well thats all well and good but thats why further down you go onto say about engine probs!!! Just a word of warning, the probs youve experienced with your 1.2 will be nothing compared to what youl get with a Valver if things go wrong!!! FACT!!!

115MPH overtakin an AX GT, well we all know AXs are a pile of but the 1.2 clio doesnt go past it!!! Well my old one wouldnt have anyway!!! Another FACT!!!

Youve been driving your 1.2 for 6mths and your already moaning its not fast enough!!! Well im sorry but I had to live and enjoy my 1.2 for a year and half before I was trusted with a more powerful car and i can safely say it didnt do me any harm!!!

Imo I would suggest you save your money for a while so things are easier when you get that FASTER car because your attitude at the moment suggests you will be raped in more ways than one!!!

mate u are a nut! If you are racing a 1.2 up to 115 mph dou will stack a valver in weeks!

Chill the fook out and roll around in the 1.2. Drop it and put on some 17s if you like, just get experience first other wise you may end up killing other people as well as yourself.

Youve only been driving 6 months ....u still cant drive!

Some of the parts you buy for the 1.2 you can chop over to a valver at a later date.

All the best...Oh sort your spelling out cos it took me ages to translate it.

have to agree wit everyone here mate, 6 months experience means nothin n if u r thrashin round a 1.2 then u will write off a valver in days, u may say u wont drive it fast but everyone will tell u on here that has/does own one that u will cos they are hot hatch car.

the insurance company will shaft u senseless wit insurance on one, ya r better off buildin up ya NCB before ya get one

no offence to ya but ya r comin across a typical boy racer who has jus passed his drivin test n wants a car like ya see in all the mags, i would jus bide ya time n wait, if ya get one n smash it up then u will fnd it hard to insure another performance car

also reckon it would break valver owners hearts to see one of their cars brothers smashed up on this forum(am i rite ppl?)

^^^ agree strongly I had a 1.4i nova at age 20 with 2 years experience of near enough living in my car and the nova came close to trees pavements and other cars so often it was unreal.

I also had a similar lunatic racing driver attitude to mcmatey

If i was you id mcwait mcmate, be even more clevery and bidey your timey

your too mcmental to get behind the wheel of a filet o valver,

youll end up milkshake mate

I wish they would bring in a law that would stop you owning anything more than a 1.2/1.4 in the first 2 years of driving.

I wrote off my own, and another 4 cars in my first year of driving (same accident - everyone ok), because of INEXPIERIANCE.

Inexpieriance + fast car = Bad news.

Just be happy with a 1.4 until you can actually afford to insure a valver.

i had a 1.2 and the most i cud get was 96mph, which is what renault say is the top whack i think, no way 115 even with a big hill, needless to say i wrote off my 1.2 basicly showing off. cos of that i had really high insurance come renewal time after owning a 1.4 306 and then after a yr of driving a 1.4rt. wait for a while seriously if u go tpft on your own policy on your 1.2 youl find loads of spares in scrappies if (and when you do crash it) then get the faster car, im now comming up for 20 bout to have 2yrs ncb (touchwood) with a 1.4 rt, after gaining 1yrs ncb my policy went from 1300tpft to 650!!! half for 1 yr, seriously wait a wee while, i dont think anyone who owns or owned a fast car at a young age ever intends to crash it, they just do!

Thank you, hope this guy listens, specialy with only 6 months experience, a freind has 4 months experience went from 1.1 fiesta to a 1.4XSi 106, hes till unconciouse in hospital, you dont want details but dont learn the hard way.

Well i reckon your all right bout waiting, but its one of them things i just want now. Who was that who said it was just over 2grand tpft at 17 wi mods???!!!! that sounds a bit unbelievable. I dont thrash my car alot for your information i sed it once and ppl keep going on about it. I would like a williams just to keep standard however. But cheers anyway for the posts. And the clio 1.2 rl oasis is 100mph top end according to parkers but parkers has been proven to be out. I have had 115mph on the motorway in 5th gear with me and passenger with alloys.... I had 105mph without exhaust system and alloys in 4th gear. the clio will do well more than 96mph!

I drove a 1.2 8v for 3 years before i got my 16v.

I have had my valver for over 3 months now and im still getting used to it.

I drive it very carefully, and am alot more experienced due to driving a slower car before it. If your 17 and get in a valver, your more than likely going to get over confident because of the speed and crash it.

Tis a very quick lil car...... If you do insure it, treat it with respect (nothing wrong with putting ya foot down) but gradually is always best.
