@18 with no drivin expeirience id think youd be very lucky to get it at 2k!!

I bought my valver in may at 19 with a years and halfs drivin expeirience with no collisions to my name(still no no-claims)and i was still gettin quotes of over 2k even tho i mainly use the car at weekends, its garaged and i dont live in an at risk area!!

Im with elephant now and it costs me just short of 1.3k which was the best i could get so you may wanna try them!!

i agree! i nearly came a cropper loads of times in my old 1.4. if id have had the valver id have smashed it up! just my opinion like but thats why insurance is so high for young drivers like you, cos they know uv not had enough experiance on the roads to handle a fairly quick motor, and chances of smahing it up are a lot higher.

good luck anyway pal :)

£360 FC lol But Im old.

Agree with the comments about learning to drive first (yes I know youve past your test but that means jack sh*t) or you will end up wrapping it round a lamp post or another car.

  don't

at 20 with 2 yrs no claims it would cost me £560 2 insure a valver for 10 months with admiral

imo u should not get a car over a 1.4, chances are u will smash it up, get something cheap 2 run and cheap to insure for first 6-12 months then see how things are

with elephant and admiral adding parents or older drivers as 2nd ppl on policy will bring down ur quotes

Oh and that quote is with 0 NCB as it was when I was looking at a valver as a second car! lol

It costs 989 for my 1200 mk1, I can drive ive practically drove it to its limits, ive hit 115mph in the 1.2. I have been driving 6months it wont be my first car and frankly the 1.2 is just not fast enough one bit. No power steering or any driving aids its just plain slow even though people say its fast. I NEED a faster car. I havent had any crashes or anything yet either ive just had engine problems. I know what your all saying though, my mates wrapped his 1.6 16v astra a post and into side of a car n he wa driving 2months but he just went crazy with NOS!!! now thats silly if you ask me!

oh yeh and ive een a quote on http://www.confused.comwww.confused.com on a clio 16v, 1995 worth £700 at 18 with no no claims for just short of £2500, they wanted £238 a momth which aint all that bad i guess. Think ill jus wait til august then should have years no claims n be 19.

  Street Triple R

£238 per month!

There are so many better things to spend your money on than insurance, trust me...i made the mistake of buying and insuring an Evo at 19. Before you know it youll be 21 and you can get pretty much what you want then

all good things come to those who wait pal! experience is the key, and at least 3-4 years on the roads is a start :)

115mph in a 1.2rl mate!!!

When i had mine it was lucky to hit 95mph so i cant see how yours managed the extra 20mph!!!

Mine was on 16s but even so!!!

Im 20, 2 years no claims, and i insure it with elephant 700 quid fully comp, lovely jubly.

I was 19 when i got my 16V, wait another year mate, trust me, insurance will kill you.

Insurance at 19 with one years no claims was 1300 quid TPFT!!!!

1300 tpft sounds gud to me at 19 wi a years no claims. yeh my 1.2 hit 115mph, i was racing my mate his citroen ax gt, i overtook him on acceleration but he ended up catching back up. Then on motorway he let me overtake him n i wa doin 115 n he overtook at 120. My girlfriend was in car and she saw it too, she was scared bless her lol. Its runin on a pair of 15s with a ful stainless system with decat and a rage 4" tuneable back box. The decat made a difference on accleration.

I am 17 and have just bought a valver! I tell you I am finding it very hard to get insurance how it stands with the mods.

They have told me I have to loose the i/k

Full system exhaust

lowering etc before they will even consider it

But it also has FSE boost valve

17 " alloys

gonna be 2206 a year tpft.

Does anyone know where I can get insurance with those mods on it for not to much more?

Thanks

Lol. no offence mate but ur screwed. insurance is so expensive till u get to 21, and get at least 1 yrs ncb behind u. When i first started driving at 17 had a 1.1 renault 5, they wanted £1500 for me. That was the best i could get after a lot of shopping about. So 17 with a 1.8 16v. doomed mate.

so you get the best out of both worlds.... your car as it should be, and your motor insurance. :)

reason its so b*****d expensive is cos un-experianced drivers are getting 16vs at 17, and smashing em up!

get a 1.4 till u got a few years experiance pal!!!! trust me iv been there!!!!!

eeek get a 1.4, got one and want valver power now but youll end up a statistic in a valver, I would have!

1 in 5 first year drivers end up dead or seriously injured. Im finding out recently that is not a lie either.:(

Umm makes me wonder too!!!

Imo with posts like that youl probs end up writing a valver off within the first few weeks of ownership!!!

Dont agree with a few comments made about being doomed at any age less than 20/21....im 19 nearly 20 with just over 2 years drivin exp(no no claims) and found it easy with gettin fair quotes on a valver and im also gettin fair quotes on williamss now too so it isnt impossible!!!

i got a quote of £926 with elephant! 19, 1yr no-claims! but thats 10 months!

your much better of with a 1.2/1.4 to start with, everyone wants more speed, but you cant always handle it! im glad ive started with my lil 1.2! ive got more experince now, probably not enough to get a valver, but im sensible! lol

  Clio 172

I am going to pay the high price I think. My valver is mint and I dont want to let it go.

Just might undo a few of the mods.

To low anyway!

Also open I/ks in that car are pants!

From that post, youd write off a 16v in a matter of minutes, if you do get one, i hope they f**king rape you on insurance!

I agree with this.

Does make you think a accident is waiting to happen with posts like that. But it is possible to insure it. Im 19 with 0 NC bonus and bout 2 1/2 yrs driving experiance and insure a fully modified williams. Its expensive but possible.

Id say go for a 1.4 though. Its still quicker but after passing your test the clocks just ticking till your first accident. Just dont let it be in a valver, chances are youll come out of it regreting it, if at all.

  Not a Clio

never mind an accident, youre likely to kill yourself/passengers/other motorists.

With posts like that i bet you spend your weekends sat outside mcdonalds with the other kiddies.

Grow up, get some experience!

What makes you think im going to drive nuts in it anyway? i never said i wanted it for the speed did i? Im not stupid enough to go fast straight away im clevery than ud expect, i like to get used to the car first though, i done 15,000 miles in 4 months. Just so you know i have to park at mc donalds cos am a manager there its sh*t i kno. But avin a valver is jus sumet to say i got. N wen am ready i can jus show ppl up but i wudnt thrash it for a gud while, av sin sense n drive normally dont speed or owt jus on certain special occasions.
