Another Clio for myself and @baysthebest

Snapped this one up on ebay a couple of days ago, didnt bother viewing it, just had it recovered to my house.

Its a great base for us being original with loads of recent work done including the cambelt, dephaser and water pump done at Beaniesport last year, cook sport springs, snappy steering wheel and various other small items from when @cliocollins owned it. Oh yeah, the wheels have been recently powder coated too.

The first owner had it up until 2019 and manitened a full and up to date service history with the Renault dealer it came from.

Given it a clean today, wheels off etc so i could clean out the arches.

Loads of progress to follow.

Yes! Really pleased it's gone to a good home. I knew the previous owner was going to use it as a track toy. I'll look forward to seeing what you do next. Shout if you need any details from my ownership.

Looks lovely! Engine bay is great. Renault paint and orange peel is standard!! Is that a Snappy or Royal steering wheel? Exactly what I would like to have done with my spare standard one.

Much planned for it or just make/keep mint OEM. This a keeper?

yeah, snappy wheel 😍perfect finish on it just like the phase 1 wheel he did for me.

Keeping it as standard as possible, front the bonnet and both bumpers eventually. Also get my dent guy round to sort all the car park dings out.

Just realised i posted all todays work in my phase1 thread 😂

Dent man coming out later to remove a load of door dings etc, i have removed the rear interior panels to make access a bit easier for him, plus i wanted to take a look at the inner sills. Pretty good which I'm happy about.

Also replaced the aftermarket washer jets with the originals.

  Clio 172 cup 2002
Finally got the Cup MOT’d today, went straight through with no probs, they even knew about Cups rear brake performance being almost non existent which was nice.

All taxed and ready to be used 😍

My cup passed this week too... just a rusty exhaust heat shield and a bit of travel in the handbrake were the only advisories.

Mine's gone on the SORN list now...keeping it out of the elements for the winter!

Yours is looking good 👍

This looks stunning mate. Great job. Rare to see the running strips still in the original matt finish.

So, i noticed a slight stutter when blipping the throttle and again about 5000 rpm, checked the usual, leads, injectors and coil pack, all fine.

Pulled the plugs out and theres my problem, completely worn out. Going through the history which is all Renault and at the same dealer i cant see the plugs have ever been changed 😂

Anyhow, new parts, rs lower inlet to pop on as well.

Worn out plugs vs new

Didn't need the air filter in the end as there is a ram one on there.

Drives great now with the new plugs 👍 no stuttering.
