Clio 172 how much??

Still debating on whether i should sell my 1.2 Clio and get my mits on a 172??:dapprove:
If i do what am i looking to pay for one? With mileage being between 25k to 38k, and with the usual bits and bobs! Was thinking the Black, Flame Red or one of the blues, so many decisions!

There is a flame red at one of my local garages with 32k, non-standard exhaust and tints they want £7495 and they aren't willing to knock any off Had a test drive in it and fell in love instantly lol What do we think?? cheers

I got a 53 silver 172 with cruise and the 6 cd changer and esp for 8500. That was in February.

Had 29k on clock. Traded in my old Saxo VTS. Before that I had a 1.4RT.

Quite a step up from a 1.4 to a VTS/172 (similar performance on those two).

In my opinion, Monaco blue is a bit dull and boring, Black makes it look like a Dynamique.

Only choices are Iceberg or Flame. Iceberg is a nice everyday colour though common. Looks classy though, shows off all the lines of the car and contrasts well with the black grille.

Flame red is grown up and subtle.

Oh it is a nice colour don't get wrong. Just think flame and iceberg are better. Each to their own though. I think the old 16v looked better in Monaco than a 172 does.

You'll find that ebay is legally binding and seeing as your car has bids, you're obliged to sell it.

At the very least you'll have to pay ebay the listing fees and final value fees out of your own pocket and then face negative feedback.

yes your right it is a binding contract and i know i will have to pay the fees for listing etc. But a friend has bidded on it to a certain price acting as the reserve, if it reaches the price that the offers have been around i will let her go!! But that still means i need to start looking for another car and i thought the 172 would be a good option!

Ok but if it doesn't go beyond your mates bid, you'll still cop the fees. I assuming your mate is not buying it.

yeah ends up being around £21 for all the ebay fees then at least i know what people are willing to pay!!! Well i took down the local garage where the 172 is and the p/x would be £3600, but i would think i would get more just selling it, hence why im just wondering about a good price for a 172.

Fair enough, but just coz it may sell for say 3600 on day doesn't mean it will the next time.

Best is to just advertise it locally for what you want and if anyone's interested, they'll come (and haggle).

Just my opinion, but, would it not have been easier and better to have asked the nice people here on ClioSport what their opinions on its worth, (explaining what you also would expect for her)? I am sure you would have got plenty of feedback, and it wouldn't have cost you anything,also giving you that extra bit of time to really make up your mind.

yeah i no will only get lower each day!! thanks for the advice will keep my eyes pealed and bury my head in the auto-trader!! But definately liking the flame red but the silver is growing on me alot!!!

So they want £7495 but what year is it? Anything less than an 03 and it sounds expensive. Private 52's can be had for £6500 that have done 30K. Shop around there is normally lots of 172's for sale.

got my flame red for £ 5.5k .. 34k miles 2 owners. all that was needed was service and breakes all round so plus 500 . so all together 6k

I wouldnt pay that much. i got my flame red from a renault dealer, its a 51 plate wiv 40k miles for £6500.
