Clio 172 Ph1 - Changed rear pads, one disc feels hotter than the other?

So I changed the rear pads on my ph1, passenger side went on without issues but the right side were a bit of a struggle, seems there was a bit of debris in under the dust cover for the caliper.
Got it on, spun with the same resistance as the other side, thought all was good.
Took it for a short spin up the road, maybe 5 minutes with some heavy braking built in to test my work.
Stopped up and checked the rear discs, Driver side lightly burnt my finger. Passenger side was just a little warm.

Is that new caliper time or have I just done something wrong?

Could be the pad sticking in the caliper when it heats up, I had it recently on the front of my old Clio, I'd forgotten to file down the tabs and the powder coating was expanding when hot and jamming on the disc making it red hot.

Have you cleaned all the baked on brake dust off the calipers?

Did the piston wind in ok?

That's what I'm thinking.. I had a bit of issue winding in the piston realised there was debris in behind the dust cover of the piston. I managed to get the pads on a few times and then realised the disc wouldn't spin. But eventually I got it in and the disc spun the same as it did on the left side that's what's confusing me!

Previous owner left out the pin/bar that retains the pads. I found out underbraking when I lost the 2 pads on my back right. Smashing into the alloy.
Unless that also damaged the disc? There's nothing obviously damaged..

Rear pads falling out is quite common, a mate of mine has his track car rears wired in like aircraft parts as he's had them fall out on track.

Piston is sticking on the caliper by sounds of it.

Wind the piston out as far as you dare, pop the boot out of the groove. Clean the corrosion off the piston with 1500 wet&dry and oil. Lube piston with red rubber grease and work it in and out until it moves easy. Refit.
