clio 172 stereo doesnt work HELP

hi there

ive just bought a clio 172 and the stereo doesnt work
when you turn it on it beeps when you press any of the buttons,there is also no stereo info displayed on the dash.
can anyone help please?

should it pop up on the dash display about the code?

also i dont have the code as i only bought the car today are they avalable from anywhere?

Really can't remember, should display something on the dash though.
Bought it from a dealer or private?

it was a trade buy but kinda private lol,it was at his house.
he was unsure on how to get the stereo to work also

maybe best to buy a new one then?

Its should display the word " code " if it needs the code entering .

Check all the fuses for the stereo also check if there is a fuse in the back of the head unit, sounds like theres no power going to it, altho u will still probs need a code if you get it to power on!

You didnt test the stereo before buying?

As said it will beep, but will say code on dash display if its just had battery flat or been removed etc. If so code is at front of manual.

i did test yes but new it didnt work was hoping it was something simple.
i may swap to an aftermarket stereo if i cant get it to work.
it seems as if the stereo has power as it beeps and the cd changer has power to it, very odd.
i will go and check all the fuses now
