Clio 182 battery

Will I get loss of power if my battery is on its way out? Car completely cut out yesterday and wont start, the battery light came on and had loss of power steering. Am I right in thinking im just going to need a new battery? Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks

Check thick wire that goes to the alternator. It gets battered by water etc and corrodes through, mine did.
