clio 182 cup

  Black Clio 172

before anyone says it i have searched and found that most of these issues have been discussed anyway. All i have to add is that i can get a 182 cup for 10k (this is 500 quid less than my 1.4 2 yrs ago). Seems a bargain if u can put up with the dynamique interior. to be honest i think its a good bridge between the lower spec 1.4/1.6 dynamiques and the 182. ill just have to decide if i can stand to look at the same interior with a silver insert on door handles and gear knob.

So what are the differences?

Cloth interior

20 Kg lighter (wont make much difference on an 1100kg car)

Aircon rather than climate

No Xenons

No Headlamp washers

Anything else?

If you can get one new for 10 k though Craig sounds like a bargain! Where from?

I think
No, it was 52kg lighter...

GTi-6 - 1215kg
Rallye - 1163kg

You wont notice 20kg missing over the 182 Sport, they should have done it properly like the 172 Cup which is a healthy 89kg less than its well specced brother.

The bloke in the Renault dealership told me about this; apparently its just a cost effective 182 with Cup pack, it comes with the suspension pack/spoilers as standard, has no leather interior (its the dynamique interior... or cloth), the back seat is just a "panel" as opposed to proper seats and is slightly lighter.

All in all, a cheaper 182 with cup pack minus some of the luxury bits and back seats; which is a ball hair quicker to 60.

Personally, the standard 182 wins my vote.

The weights I quoted above are from Renaults site. But regardless the difference is 20 KG.

OK in the interests of science:

Price:

182 (with cup packs) has over the 182 cup:

Climate Control

Heat reflecting windscreen

4x40W Cabasse RDS radio single CD with 6 speakers and remote control

Leather/alcantara upholstery with sports front seats

Double optic Xenon headlamps with auto height adjustment

Headlamp wash

Lateral airbags

Carpet mats

Lumbar adjustable drivers seat

60:40 split rear seat

3 height adjustable rear headrests

Rain sensitive automatic wipers

Automatic lights

Front map reading light & delayed courtesy light

Luggage net in boot

Illuminated vanity mirrors

Performance:

+20 Kg (for all those toys above)

  172 cup TT

hehe - oh no, current 182 (with cup pack) owners have no where to run now and can no longer call it a "182 cup"

Id rather have the extra equipment to be honest.

Xenon lights, Climate Control, Rain Sensitive Wipers, Leather/Alcantara Seats ... Easily worth it.

And u can pick up a 182 std for £12,600 no bother.

if i do a search do you think i can go back long enough to view threads about the launch of the 172 cup?

LOL @ Jon...

With ESP and ABS, 3 rear seat belts, adjustable head rests, itll never be a true Cup.

***runs away to hide***
or air con;)

tbh a saving of 20kg for a crappy interior is hardly worth it imo i love the cup brand but i dont believe this does it any justice!

If i was to buy a 182 it would be the 182 sport with cup options rather than the 182 cup

Still technically speaking it will be the fastes 2 litre clio to date
