Clio 182 - is it worth mildly tuning?

Forgive me guys, i am new to this mk2 clio malarky. Is a 182 worth mildly tuning? Ive bought a 182 and so far the spec is -

Stainless exhaust system inc de-cat
Forge black silicone intake pipe
Clio cup/v6 airbox conversion with big cold feed and Pipercross race filter.
Brembo HC discs all round and brembo pads.
New genuine Renault shock absorbers all round inc new front top mounts with Eibach sportlines.
Powerflex dogbone Mount kit
Short Shift Link.
Aircon Delete Kit

Now coming from forced induction i know tuning a N/A sucks unless you go for ITB's which for me i know wont happen. What else can be done thats not going to cost much but worth actually doing? I see people mention matched inlets and is it worth a map? If it makes them drive better and you can notice the difference i dont mind spending a bit. I just dont want to waste money and chase figures.

The car goes well now tbh. Its just a little more would be nice. The car is only ever going to be a fast road car with a few track days in the middle.

Yeah they do seem to be poor as standard in lower end of the rev range. Where can you get matched inlets and where's best to get them mapped?

diminishing returns fella.

You'd be better off stripping the car out.

From where you are it's either boost / Cams & ITB's or dont bother

Aye its already had the basics done, matched inlets if your ones aren't RS stamped and a remap to take into account the mods and leave it there. Any further and its the big bucks and law of diminishing returns imo.

Don't bother with anything to do with power.

Whiteline ARB and petrol to run the thing is where my money would go.

Where am i looking for this "RS"?

Thanks though guys. I thought as much. Im not going to mug myself off with wasting money.. To be fair its fun as it is.

Thanks. Can it be seen easily enough? Im guessing not..

Also, with regards to arb's.. is it front and rear or just the rear people tend to go with?

Just the RR- makes the back end much more adjustable imo.

Front ARB is plenty good enough.

Remove suspension, replace with billets

Remove almost the entire interior

kick the exhaust off from the manifold back

you're there.

Haha interior is staying thanks..

Who offers the RS tuner map? Is it a case of emailing some chap in Holland blah blah blah? Is there somewhere in the UK you can just go and get it done?

The company that took over JMS can do it I think. Michael Woodford Motorsport or something, check the trader section.

Stripping the interior is the way to go, made a massive difference to my old phase 1

Good lads, bit of a trek for you though.

Isn't K-Tec nearer to you? Careful though, I hear their work isn't great.........if you've already got a nail

What sort of RS stamp is on the inlets, does this mean they are matched already?

Anyone know what sort of bhp gains I'd get from mapping a 172?

It says rs on them, there just better matched than the others. Bhp after remap your looking at 5-6 if that, on a standard 172

Mine says renault sport on the top, I thought they all said that, is that the RS your on about?

Can you really notice that extra gain or is it just figures?

I used the rs tuner on my old 172, obviously 6bhp extra isn't going to feel that much different but it smooths the power out over the rev range instead of the 5k kick you'll get now, also i found that the car idles much better. As for the rs inlets, they all say Renaultsport on the top, but theres an RS on them, can't remember if it's on the front or back

If its cup-packed I'd be buying that trophy suspension in the for sale section, shortly followed by eibach sportlines and Whiteline ARB.

You can only say its worth it if its what you want.

Personaly I'd spend the money enjoying the car on petrol, track days and holidays etc but others would prefere the spend all there money making it look like a racer or getting some more HP.

No aanswer is right or worth it but each to there own.

Its not very cheap though getting a decient amount more power. As with most upgrade things your best usually buying a different car.

Ta. I'll take a look on the weekend..

Is there anywhere in the uk you can take your car for the RSTuner map rather than me pissing around with the car? Haha
