Clio 182 Performance

173bhp standard is odd, as they only left the factory with 169bhp. So must be a generous RR. Mine was done on a hub RR so im hoping it was pretty accurate.

Mileage was nothing out of the ordinary, 70k ish

was done on the scottish RR day from here with 30 odd other cars, all putting out what you would expect an RS clio to put out, in the region of 165-175 depending on 172 or 182, i stuck mine on and it put out 173bhp lol! i did chuck a bottle of octaine booster in lol!! was always a quick car from day one, had done around 30k when it went on the rollers.

then the 188bhp figure was same rollers a year later, again most engines putting out what they would be expected to, mods were 182 exhaust manifold, k-tec link pipe, k-tec stealth, AWT mached inlets, ITG filter, Samco bend

Yeah maybe the hub ones are a bit more accurate. Not that it matter i guess if it feels ok.

You can with boost.........

OP look at the Ktec low pressure turbo or Super charger conversion if you have the cash to spend. That should give you 20bhp.

Not for me. I really dont want to go forced induction, i think it will ruin the character of the car which is 90% of why i bought it.

Thats not too much work, i already have the 182 4-2-1 :D
I like the idea of the K-tec stealth system and matched inlets more than ITB's and Cam work. If i could get 188 Bhp i would be plenty happy! I guess i should take mine on a RR, see what she is producing, although im not sure i could take it if it was producing much less thn 170 Bhp, maybe ignorance is bliss.

i just done it out of curiosity, its just a number, as long as your happy. people see i spent all that money for not much power and think it was a waste, to me it was worth it as it pulled harder and had so much nicer drivability,

Thats my point really, that a few people on here seem to be missing. I am not after massive power or a straight line racer. I bought the car because of the way it feels to drive and its usability and the accessibility of its performance in a small country with largely small roads and the ever increasing onslaught on speed.
I couldnt give a c**p if it is slower to 60 or 100 than someone elses car, thats not why i am after a power gain.
I simply want to increase its level of usability and the accessibility of that performance even further by getting a more substantial mid range so i can revel in its chassis and laugh to myself even more than i already do.
I just want to make an already incredible package, perfect. For me as the cars driver, not for figures or anyone else.

Taking weight out of the car and improving the suspension and brakes will also come into this eventually ( i just wanted to ask about performance first) But if anyone has any suggestions on how i can slightly improve the suspension (unless it cant be improved on in which case just say) and the best way of going about lightening the car but so it isnt completely unbarable as an every day driver. I have a much higher tollerance than most but would maybe like to keep some carpet down and some door cards weather they be lightened ones or not., just so i dont have to look at a bare metal door and the window mechanisms.

RS Tuner RON98 map if you want driveability.

as above best mod ive done to my ph1 so far, massive mid range gain on a car that was already pretty handy mid range even compaired to my previous 188!, and that got a good gain from a 182 manifold so im going to make that my next performance mod.

as yourself i just want to build my ph1 so its a proper fast, fun weekend blaster which is all i use it for, so where most of my concetration is chassis and braking, i also want the ultimate drivability availible from the engine! (that is until i source myself an F4Rt :)
