Don't know if this has been posted before but just noticed this price for a pre registered 197.You have to pay for all the options etc but i thought that this was a good price instead of the silly £15995 at the dealers they say it comes with full manufactures warranty etc.Has anybody used these before and are they any good.

That's a lot better pricing!

How can dealers still be in business when they are undercut by so much!

Extra 100quid for a shabby 4x15watt stereo. Leave it off though, needs to loose weight lol

Also they want £150 for somebody to drive it to you, or £300 for it to be on a trailer.

Seriously, with the same power/weight as a CTR, and the same potential for ratios, how did the 197 end up feeling so gutless AND having a top speed of ony 134 versus 147? It doesnt make any sense to me at all.

Sorry, I realise this thread isnt the place for this discussion but FFS. On paper it should be equal to CTR figures, and the chassis is far better. What went worng in performance terms?

Top speed is probably down to a short final drive ratio?

That and / or the diffuser causing downforce, which allegedly slows its top speed slightly.

Acceleration wise perhaps they just need to loosen out a bit?

In which case the overall gearing should actually make it quick. My whole point. It isnt quick. The CTR is far far quicker and it has the same weight, same power, and same number of cogs.

The whole idea of the diffuser was that it reduced lift without increasing drag. This was the marketing reason why a spolier wasnt used.

I love the 197 overall, but I reckon we will see most cars making nearer 185 on the rollers. It doesnt feel fast, especially off the line.

i am VERY dubious of this price, any other deals and there are others offering a similar deal but with this they are way cheaper than anyone else, why would they get it so cheap when renault won't even allow discounts at the mo, can't see it myself, will only believe it when someone takes delivery of one from here.
