Clio 197 F1 Service Schedule

I picked up a Clio 197 F1 R27 today. I was looking for something that I could use as a fun run around as my second car, and it seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

It's 11 months old and has done 6,300 miles and I'm just wondering when the first service will be due. Is it the usual case of 12,000 miles/12 months? Because I've been told that it's 12,000 miles/24 months, but I'd like confirmation of that.

Even if it is two years I'll still change the oil and filter next month, but I'd still like to know when it should be booked in for a proper service. There doesn't seem to be any mention of schedules in the service book bizarrely.

Also, is there anything that I should check/look out for on the car? It seems to have been very well looked after, but it would be good to know if there are any known issues that I should be aware of.

if its the same as the 182 its 12k or 2 years whichever is sooner

First service on 197's is 12months or 12,000 miles. Which ever comes first. Changed my oil after 6 months, just for my piece of mind then had my first service in March this year at the 12 month mark.

Id have thought your cars would be the other way around tbh and the 911 as your toy..

actually you're right, I'll be driving the Clio more than the 911. The short journey to my daughter's nursery every morning was not good for the Porsche!

I'll get the car booked in for its first service in September. What's the average service cost?

Oh, and it's Liquid Yellow, which looks awesome on the drive next to the white 997. Didn't think I'd like a yellow car buy LY looks fantastic.

At my local dealer the first service was around the £180 mark IIRC, but I took my own oil so that brought it down a little.

Its 5w40 if you want to get your own too, had 2 loads of Shell Helix in mine although alot of people try and get the elf.

thats an excellent price. have heard of ppl being quoted £250 for the first service



make sure they put in the right grade of oil for you and haven't stiffed you on that instead.

Yeah i'll be making sure mate...put it this way, if the car goes into them for a service and it fvcks up after it comes out its on them if they've used the wrong grade etc..

Oil was changed at 1k after 'run in' with reno filter/sump washer and filled with elf excellium 5W40 then it was serviced at 6k at my mates garage, reno filter/sump washer, 5.5 litres of elf excellium 5W40 again..

i'm a pikey and provide my own oil so get it done for about £140 + the oil.
