Clio 225?

Not really looked into that and was just day dreaming about it in work.

Will a megane 225 engine fit in the clio 172/182? I assume the two engines use the same block and head as they both have the same capacity. Do they have the same engine mounts? Will the gearbox fit? Why hasnt it been done or has it???

I know there are a few companys putting turbos on 172/182 engine but if renault have allready done all the hard work why not just fit the megane engine?

Gerabox is a beast compared to the 182's. Other big problems too. Fred shall be along shortly no doubt,lol.

How easy is it to find a 225 engine and at what sort of cost?

Can the megane engine not be fitted to the clio box to simplify the instalation or is it not up to coping with the extra torque?

Started being the word, think he's got a bit of a distraction at the minute? Something about a big engine stuck in a boot?

this has been disscussed miwwilions of times too, and i think unless you can do it yourself or you have deep pockets then it not worth it. tune the clio engine or get a VAG engine instead, if you really want to

putting a turbo on the normal engine would be easier, I'm pretty sure thats all a 225 engine essentially is anyway ie a 172 lump with a turbo bolted on. Obviously the ECU is another matter as the 225 Sagem ECU is VERY complicated.

1.8T conversion i think Matt said cost him £6k for the bits etc including stand alone ECU etc.
The 225 turbo isn't a bolt on to the 172 ints a new block all bits are stronger but its the same engine code.
The 225 turbo engine has the problem of needing the big gearbox which fowls Fred started to Chow away at his car but his new Toy has got him distracted so I can see it being another project which will never get finished unfortunatly.
