Clio cup 172 won't run

Hello guys got a 172 cup ,got a few mods 182 manifold ,de cat,k tec ind kit,and matched inlets,after a gearbox change the car would start but not run so my mate plugged in his small hand tool and the code came up saying the fault was the maf or map sensor the one on the drivers side of the inlet manifold ,so I bought one but not o .e think it was Siemens , so after that car was right ,as the car does not get used as it has been built for road rallies gone to start it and the fault has come back plus once started its some times has a splutter , any ideas please thanks:dapprove:

You've not disturbed/damaged the crank sensor or wiring?

Well assuming you didnt touch anything over on the driver side of the engine when you had the gearbox off? Maybe check connections to the ECU and earths.

Ok thanks just wondering about throttle pedal, coil pack ,and what you said crank sensor could spend a couple of hundred £s and still got prob

Any ideas guys tried maf sensor which handheld tool is saying faulty switch works fine is his car , put his maf sensor in mine still got prob ? Can something else be giving a false reading ?

You say it starts but doesn't run but What does it do?

No did not think I had too?

If you don't erase it it will be stored in the memory of the car still. Erase it run the car and see if it comes back as a fault.

Sorry Sam after about 10 atempts it will idle but will start to miss
