clio engine swop

hey i was just wondering how do you go about putting an old clio engine in a mk 2 clio. i have looked at a mk1 engine and all the hounting seen thesame i was thinking of a 1.8 16v. but then i thought what about drive shfts hubs suspension ect, anybody got any clues. i know 5 alive have done a 1.8 rsi in to a mk 2 and a 5gtt thnks

usualy swap over hub assemblies and drive shafts when doing a engine conversion.

yea i thought that but would the mk 1 hubs fit the mk2 with all the suspension and that ?

There a few options depnds which way you want to go about it you can do the simple thing and just swop engine or swop engine and boxes or swop engine boxes shafts hubs etc.

I'd recomend a 2.0 bottom end though.

There are benefits cost can often be a big one can get whole doner cars dirt cheap somtimes.

yea i looked at the 172 or 182 but ill be paying well over 1k for all the parts , so if i was to swop the engine and boxes i should be able to run the shafs and hubs does any 1 know? if this is the case i can start uprating my suspenshion ect be for i decide to do this.

You can get it for under that price plus ou do get the bigger brakes and suspenion to match the wider setup etc.

nope, use the 1.2 hubs, wishbone, driveshafts etc etc

just use the 1.816V engine and box

the new clio dash i doubt will work with the old clio engine, you'll have to do a lot of f**king about to get it to work in my opinion

Unless he has one of those ultra rare 239mm disked 1.2 16V

Loom depends how you go about it one ideas to run both ECU's or run a different ECU or get a phase 2 ecu etc.

£15k matt was selling full kits for but he gives a warently as such on the parts.

Try crashed repaired cars people have been known to buy the whole car bits for very little realy. However most of the time the gearbox are broken so need a new one.

so then it sounds like the tricky bit will be wirering up the loom tricky as in hard or tricky asin rly dificult
