clio fails MOT!

bugger...well it failed on a few things but the main things are the front discs (pads will need to be changed as well) and the rear pads.

are people sticking with normal rear pads or others opting for something better (considering there not used that much I woud have thought just bog standard ones)

and whats people's opinions on using standard discs (or a normal solid varient with pads such as ds2500?

also they mentioned my front brake hoses were catching on the insde of the wheels on full lock...is there a clip that should be on the suspension strut which the hose should clip into?

If you dont drive it on track dont bother with expensive brakes.

Standard ones are great, rear pads dont do much so just get standard ones (£12 from most car part places)

There isnt a clip as far as im aware.

i would class my driving as fast road so basically wanted something that would hold up. probably going to try some track days (bedford ones seem like a good starter) in the new year.

going to go for standard rear pads from wherever is cheapest.
so its now onto the fronts...i think a search is in order...

DS2500's and Some Braided lines then.

Standard Discs are more than up to the job, dont mess with grooved or drilled.

If you don't go on track then standard stuff is fine

As for the hose....yes there is a clip on the front strut that the hose clips to about 4" up the strut away from the caliper.

cool, got some braided lines so i'll have a gander for ds2500...anyone know of the cheapest place to get them? and do they work well with std solid discs?

is this clip on all the clio's and not just the sport versions? thinking if there not on mine a trip to the local renault breakers may be on the cards.

I would hazard a guess at them being on all clios to keep the hoses out the way but I know they are on mine and my mate's sports with the standard suspension.

yeah its gonna be a cable tie if there isn't a clip on mine. however i'll have a gander on a clio in a breakers if they got one about.

anyone know the cheapest place for the pads and discs in milton keynes?

If your considering upgraded brake's dont bother with drilled and grooved disk's unless they are fully heated they sqeak all the time they are only meant for track use but as for the bad's i would recomend red stuff pad's i swear by them.
