Clio For The Missus

Going with the missus to have a look a 1.9 Diesel tomorrow....

Before you all start coatin diesels, shes still a student at Uni so it sounds like the right move being cheaper to run and all. And considering before I owned the Willy, I had the diesel model and it was whipping any motors upto a 1.4, so its not the slowest thing on the planet so i guess she could go for worse.

The bloke whos got it says its done 112,000 on the clock, but its supposed to be proper mint.

He wants £500 for it, I dont think thats too bad considering diesels seem to go on for ever, but wot do u lot think, and is there anything in particular that i should be lookin for that i might of missed out last time?

Cheers

Ian

My Missus has a 96 1.9D with 200K miles on it .....noisy but still going strong! Only major things that needed replacing since new were radiator, heater matrix and a diesel injector. Oh, and the original exhaust eventually gave in at 180K!

Yeah but his Ladys car wont cost her £10,000000000000 a year to maintain if you pick a semi bad one! And his missus car wont be faster than his!! Hehe Just kidding mate!

And you really trust your missus in a Valver. Saying that we bought mine a 106 GTi

erm, i have a 172 and a 16v Ben so naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!:p

I had a 1.9 diesel clio for a couple of years. Mine had 112,000 on the clock when i sold it and it was worth about £1200 on trade in, so £500 seems a bit low. Mine was an R reg. When they get going they are good cruising machines and its a big engine for a little car so they move. They do however underrrrrrrsteeeear badly with that engine.

If shes a student shell be able to run red diesel (not that i would condone such behaviour, LMAO);)

When u get it put some 10k boost diesel in it. The fuel consumption got sh*te on mine and that sorted it out nicely.

Cheer for the advice peeps...Im going up in the next couple of hours to give it the full once overs.

Liquid Ice - u joker mate :devilish:
