Clio mk1 1996 engine?

Right i havent posted on here in ages.Ive got a car now, but i am thinking of getting my neighbours car(as a track car),its a 1996 renault clio mk1 on the cheap,and was wondering what would be the best engine to put in it,for tuning potential and reliabilty?

Willy engines do come up for sale a fair bit, they aren't that cheap though.

Maybe put a wanted ad on here ? Or look on clio16valver if you haven't already.

think id rather go for the 172/182 engine rather than the clio williams,as they have pretty high mileage!

r5 gt turbo lump.....goes in pretty straight foward and bolts straight onto the clio gearbox so you wont lose the speedo....
