Clio MK2 PH1 2001 1.6 initiale project

Hi All,

Have recently purchased a 2001 clio MK2 PH1 1.6 16v initiale in platinum silver. I have had it just over a week now and bought for £700, 94k on the clock.

Below are some pictures of when i bought it.

I added some LED sidelights to the front of the car a few days after i bought it.

Today i have removed rear bumper and currently in the process of priming it and ready to spray it black.

I will get some photos of the interior some stage today and post them up, i have just oredered an Aux bluetooth car kit that im going to hopefully wire in such a way that you cannot see the wires. i say hopefully

Whats your thoughts on the car?

OK, finished rear bumper in Matt Black, whats your thoughts on this colour? i might spray it again in Gloss black? Have also attached some pictures of the interior as promised. Have been spending quite a bit of time recently looking through other peoples projects and this is what has inspired me.

Have also fitted some blue LED lights to the interior, below is a pic of them on at night time, they automatically come on with the interior lights when doors open etc.

I took out dashboard today and got my "no seat belt light" working, need to get another bulb for the "door open" as that one had blew, last owner took the switch out completely? weird! So i also installed some mics on the A pillars ready for a Bluetooth kit which i ordered today. I also ordered some silver pedals, i think this will look good, anyway.... some more pics.

Well it's the initiale model, i could change it but to much effort.

Did a bit to the car today, firstly i fitted an AUX bluetooth car kit, a nice addon to handsfree for your smart phone, i have to say, i'm quite impressed with it. It even auto pairs, for £30, bargain!

After, i took the front wheels off and cleaned all the old brake dust, got no pictures of it complete but it was ALOT cleaner, i have a picture below of how it looked, they were quite bad.

After this i kept the wheels off and began cleaning my brake calipers to spray them Red.

Morning All,

I am looking at getting the bumpers, sidestrips and door handles colour coded to the car. Does anybody have a rough price as to what this would cost me?

Perhaps somebody with good photoshop skills could do a photoshop picture for me of what it would look like, using the picture above this post? I would greatly appreciate that.

maybe go for clear side indicators mate, i did that on my non-sport makes it look much better

Shorter Aerial,
Clear side indicators
dewiper rear?
blue air feed pipe
spray alloys black? Mixed mind about this, thoughts?

Spent a few hours today cleaning the car and giving it a good polish, i think the results look good. You can see from the picture below that the left hand headlight isnt as shiny as the right side, i'm not sure why this is? i used 800 grit sandpaper, perhaps i need a finer grade? Might head down and purchase a headlight restorer kit for it. Thoughts?

I also fitted some aluminium pedals:

You can see clearly here that the headlight looks foggy, even though i have polished it, washed it, sanded it.....etc etc.

Just been out to check car, all lights etc were working. Found 2 blown bulbs!!!! The rear plate light and the right hand brake light, promptly replaced them, so am happy now

If you use the 3m head light kit on them they will come up a lot better but good for you so far

That's more like it all you need is a nice set of wheels now

Going to wait until i need new tyres before upgrading alloys, i want to get 15" alloys and i can get everything in one then.

This is great man, thanks a lot. I've recently bought an 1.6 Initiale PH2 and have some work to do on it. A nice bit of inspo for me.
