Hi Everyone
I just joined today because on Thursday I take delivery of my Clio Trophy, it's super shiney having been PermaGuarded and only has 1900 miles on the clock. I'm pretty excited about it having taken it for a test drive around Arundel on Friday. It's too early to tell yet whether it's going to be more fun than my 205 1.9 GTi but I haven't stopped reading about it and the reviews say it's awesome. I have to admit I thought my little pug was fairly brisk but I think this is going to take cornering to a new level, it really shoves in third gear too, much more linear delivery than the GTi, just keeps piling on the speed.
Anyway, if anyone out there knows someone who is after a 205 GTi, it's for sale. I'll probably cry when I see it go, It's my first car and has been amazing fun. Driving other cars like BMW 5 series and turbodiesels is just so boring and inert I can't wait to get back in it. It's an Alpine White '88 and has just 85K on the clock and is unmodified except for a 57i K&N Induction Kit and Griffiths Engineering Quick Shift which are essential mods without destoying character of the car. It has new gearbox, clutch, discs, pads, coin tray etc...etc...
Just read another article today in Evo about the Trophy keeping up with an M6 on mountain roads. Awesome! Just got to find some mountains and an enthusiastic M6 driver, most seem to be grey haired and half dead.
So excited I think I'm going to be sick.
