clio vs megane

i had a mark 1 clio 172 (sold due to addition to family) now in position to buy another. got side tracked in dealership by megane 225. i drove it and boy was it quick, however it wasnt as fun to drive as my old clio. there is also all the goodies on standard 182 like xenons and climate whereas expensive options on megane

i dont know what to do 12500K clio or 15500 megane.(via broker)

just the thought of having 225bhp is a real pull even if not quite as fun



any thoughts.....

i had this same predicament buymynewcar.co.uk? any chance anyway i chose the 182 slightly cheaper running costs ins and of course the purchase and not much diff i feel anyway

buy the 182 and wait for a spanked RS Meg and do an engine swap!

I moved from 182 to megane.

At first the megane does seem very grown up and refined in comparison to the Clio, but remember it is a bigger, heavier, quieter, and safer car. Still loads of fun to be had (trust me), AND you wont go geaf after a motorway journey.

Do not use brokers (bad experience). Look after your local dealer, and he will look after you.

the megane has not had a good review yet, and as such when viewed as a performance car, the only positive thing ive read is its acceleration.

numb steering, detached, wooly - those were the general sort of descriptions used...but hey, i aint driven one so dont know for sure!

IMO id go with the megane, looks 10 times better than the clio
