Clio won't start, 1.2 16v help

My clio won't start! First turn of the key puts the lights on as usual, then they all go out except the battery light and STOP! light. Then turn the rest of the way but nothing.

Won't jump start or anything, but all the lights and electrics work, someone help!
Was running earlier then just been left for a few hours and nothing.

HELP!

Is the starter motor kicking in? try giving it a tap with a hammer, if its jammed it should do the trick..

aye^ mine did this a few times, bump started it and it seemed to be fine after that

Immobiliser light go out after a few seconds or stay lit?

^ If the immobiliser light doesn't flash rapidly - If it doesn't crank or even click I'd replace the starter operating wire terminal - 5 min job. About 50p from halfords and crimp it with some pliers.

Have you tried bumping it?

I checked the connecting wire onto the starter solenoid, just pulled it off, the connection was clean etc so plugged it back on, then my brother tried to start it and it fired up.

So not sure what was wrong with it but it works now!
