Clio wont start.....

Car  Clio 1.2 MK 3
Hi

Bought my Clio yesterday, drove all the way home (150 miles) no problem at all, now this morning I've taken it for MOT , car was on the ramp running fine then cut out completely and will not start, the imob light is going off so its not that stopping the car from starting.

I've looked for loose earthing wires and they are all ok, the tdc sensor wire is ok so im thinking it needs to be put on a tester.

Is there a local garage or anyone in the Leigh ,Lancashire area anyone knows off, I might buy one off ebay then go from there, trouble is being Friday I wont get it till next week , kinda wanting it running this weekend lol.

Any help is appreciated

Many thanks

Tom

That sucks mate hope you get it sorted asap....

It may sound silly, but try wiggling the positive cable on the battery or even cleaning the terminals. I say this because I changed my battery once and after doing so my car would just sit there turning over. As I was checking the connections on the battery and moved the wire I heard a faint click some where in the engine bay (haven't a clue where) and thought what the heck I will try again and it started straight away.....

Thanks for the info,

Had the breakdown guy come look/tow the car last night, he took the battery off and on again and it started first time???

No idea why but he said something like there could of been a spike in the immob??

Will get it on a diagnostic and check it out

Thanks again

Tom

Take the positive cable off and check for corrosion around the terminal and on the adptor (cable to battery) Try cleaning them up or get a new positive cable termination block to go on the battery

Ok will give that a go, cant be the immboliser as all the lights go out.

Cheers

Tom

Strange that when you took the battery off before it started.....I would say you may have a lose wire some where that is making contact when it gets disturbed.

All sorted now...again lol. Had a bloke from Home-tune come and look at it, quite a few errors to begin with, turned out to be badly connected resistors under the bonnet, there is no passenger inner arch for some reason so water and crap has been getting on them, cleaned them up, perfect every time and not an error on the car :)

Thanks for all the help
