cliocup 2004

the cliocup 2004 will have some changes (at least here in holland) :

- The looks will be diffrerent the will change the back and the front of the car.

- The power will be around 195 Bhp this is an extra 10 bhp, they changed the inlet manifold (I already placed the 8200 number for and the outlet. The manifold will be changed (I also placed the 8200 number for)

Well I already use these parts and the car breaths better and a much quicker response. The ´kick´at 4500 is much faster. Both parts are the same as an ecu change(power increase) and costs around € 200 each. BUT the inlet change is A LOT of work.

Cheers

?? didnt think there was going to be another Cup after 2003?? Plus their not called Cups in Europe are they???

  Audi TT Stronic

Err the 182 is basically a 172 with the cup suspension, track, spoiler, splitter (options).

Didnt think there was gonna be a Cup version since the 182 is in essence a Cup with toys, comfort etc.

We r driving cliocup since 1992. It´s just a cup for Renault Clio. After 1997 they changed over to Meganes and from 2001 they came back to the clio´s again. Cup is just the name of racing with Renaults. The cup 172 is something for the UK market to sell more clio 2.0 rs.

In 2005 the stock cliocup will stop and they either run megane rs or clio rs turbo engined

I think around 5 Bhp bu more responsive on throttle
Definitely more responsive on the throttle. Ive found the engine is much better at lower revs. No hesitation or "juddering" in high gears at low revs.

tonycart,

You say the inlet change is a lot of work. Is it a plug and play or are there other things that need doing? Does everything just bolt together?

Grp N Ecu, Inlet manifold and what else?

Throttle butterfly, injectors?

Waht suspension do you have?

The inlet manifold is a bit of a pain to fit and will take someone who knows what they are doing about three hours. The engine has to be unbolted and moved upwards to give access to the alternator belt (needs to be slackened off) and a lot of parts come off the top of the engine.

All these parts need to come off:

Fitting the inlet manifold itself is just a case of unbolting the old on, changing the gaskets and bolting the new one on. The problem comes from all the stuff that needs to come off and then be put back on.

Here is my original inlet manifold. The middle two inlets have a very clear casting defect!

The work on my car was done by Nick Hill and Id thoroughly recommend him. There arent many Renault specialists out there wholl work on your car while youre busy snapping pictures of the work and asking stupid questions! If anyone is interested in the inlet work, give Nick a call :D

Rhys,

Thanks a million for the photographs. That is a nasty casting indeed!

Id be looking to do the job myself and from the looks of it, it seems pretty straightforward.

@ragnotti

Rhys says it all ! I don´t need to say anything more....

Other things well upgraded suspension. Big Ap or Brembo disks at the front side. Head conversion (bigger and steeper valves) The maximum with the stock TB will be around 230 Bhp. If you want more you have to change the inlet completely (there are some projects with VERY nice pictures on this site)

Want even more ...Turbo or compressor...or fit soem nitro to your clio... I would never go for all this but maybe someone wants. The first reason is that fuel is expensive here in Holland and with these mods I think you need about 18 l/100 km And since I use my car daily....... But still the projects of butterfly inlets are super....

Yeah, I think its straightforward (rather than easy!) for someone who knows their stuff. Ill leave it to the professionals myself!
