Clio's - great when they work, but bloody hell do they give me problems!

Ok bit of a rant..

My first car was a Ford Ka... (no jokes please!) not the greatest car in the world but she NEVER put a foot wrong, had her for 3 years and the only money spent was routine maintenance.

Bought my 1.6 back in august. 33k on the clock. Love her to bits. came with a 6 month warrenty ffrom the dealer.

at 6months and 3 days, throttle body had to be taken apart and cleaned. At less than 7 months i now have a toxic fume light on. great.

Dont no what prob is, coils, cat etc but i'm beginning to wonder why i bought french!! lol

Only upside is that i have ren-tech 2miles up the road... which is where she is going at 3pm today.

i had that on my 1.6 - most prob a coil pack has gone - simple thing to fix tho

i guess just cos i've had to get it to a garage twice in the space of a month, for 2 unrelated problems..

i've never had a french car.. i wasnt prepared! lol

When I had my 1.6 a within the first three months it needed a new cat, seat belt sensor came on and a new engine coil. Three time s I had to take it back to the dealer. Luckily it was in warranty

That's the beauty of a car with 30 year old engine design - all the problems have been found and removed! Nothing wrong with a Ka (especially if it's a SportKa).

no it wasnt a sport, but still it ran and ran and i wasnt particularly kind to it lol

after lookin around on here seems the coils are a bit of a weakness for the 1.6. still love her tho, but that may change after i find out how much lol

If it is the coils you would loose power and economy, and dont run it. Mine damaged the cat but luckily was under warranty
