Yeah, f**k sake, they loved me.

Like everyone else did TBH.

Most people spun round thinking a ruck was kicking off i think.

They were at you all day, must have been the beer.

The venue dictates the dates we can do mainly so as soon as we've nailed that we will have a better idea.

Im guilty with the flyering but as we had paid to be a trader then I thought why not, it also meant that I got to see a few people and chat to people who I wouldn't of been able to because I was at our trade stall most of the day

Also, how can anyone be shy with a LY car lol

I'm gonna guess Daniel's comment was aimed at us but we were sleeping :L

Next year I think I won't convoy and I'll come down later as I was so tired

I've filled in the survey.

Thought it was an excellent day, nice variety of traders, fantastic raffle prizes and good banter.

Camping at the venue would be good as I feel I missed out not making a weekend of it.

So more of the same plus camping for next year please :)

(I'd like a trackday element similar RTOC's National Day but I'm probably in the minority and it would be extra work).

I'll admit, I went by myself and spent most the day by myself ha. I'm a really shy person, like really really shy and the thought of just going up to randoms who are in groups all getting along scares the s**t out of me!
I'm a bit like this too. I didn't go to CSS Saturday (I didn't even get my 172 until Sunday :D), but if I did, I'd have probably kept myself to myself too, socialising and mingling isn't easy for a lot of people. It's a shame to see so many negative comments directed at those who were less outgoing, but still made the effort to turn up! I suppose shyness gets mistaken for rudeness, but it really isn't.

Would it be possible to hold the event at an airfield trackday location next year or would that totally blow the budget!?

I reckon a bit of track action would help the day either as a participant or a spectator.

You could have camped at mine you fool,I think a track day element could lead to disaster.Maybe an auto test would be fun.

It's odd. We didn't do track time because nobody's takes it up enough at either shows. We probably won't do it next year either unless we find a suitable venue. (don't suggest them in here we have a lengthy shortlist already)

Also track time could increase the ticket price 20x or more!

Autotesting sounds good in theory, but requires a level of skill some may not have. And that's before we get into the costs of liability insurance that would be a requirement.

Thats what I put in the survey,I thought insurance would be tricky.AT is slow and you can only hit bollards.

Shyness I totally understand, I suffer from it myself.

But you can't then complain that nobody spoke to you afterwards in a survey. That's where the problem lies.

Every year "shy" people say nothing for the whole show and then as soon as they get back to the safety of the Internet....its complaining time and that's what annoys us.

There are no issues with you keeping yourself to yourself. At all.
Just don't moan that nobody spoke to you afterwards.

I'll get in touch with an AT club and see what's involved. It's certainly worth looking at as an option.

Couple of things I'd like to point out.

Firstly..

Before you answer these questions, remember a few things.
1. We do this part time
2. there isn't a bottomless pit of money, so please be realistic with any suggestions and answers.

Secondly.. Complaining about traders prices or the weather being too hot. What exactly do you expect us to do about that?

Thirdly.. Various people have suggested track time as 'something to watch' but nobody seems to want to go on track when we try and organise it at other events. The cost for track is huuuuuuuuge! We need to pay all sorts of insurances, track hire, proper marshalls etc etc. That would cost thousands and would mean the ticket price goes up up up. Now we can look into it, but there won't be much to watch if only 3 people go on track all day.

I agree with the comments re the track time but if it was a dedicated track time venue for cs at cs event I think people would be more inclined to go for it.

I appreciate it would put the price up but didn't think it would make it £100 a ticket.

Depends where it was, but if people are expecting a well known track, it certainly would.

Where can you do a track-session for less than £100? Then you add insurance, marshalls etc. Even if it was free/cheap, not everyone would want to ruin a set of tyres/brakes.

Just for reference, to hire Silverstone is £260k! LOL

It wouldn't be far off that, if you wanted track time.

In fact i might be being super generous at £100

We WILL be dong dedicated CS track days next year, maybe even this year if i can manage it. So look out for those.

Track time? Why don't we go the whole hog and get a drift team in and call it CFCS. I really don't think the club should move away from the social aspect. It's almost unique in what it is even after onlt the first year.

The games idea is simply brilliant. Setting fastest laps ect... gets the banter going and people competing.

I mean people paid £5!!! That's crazy value for money and probably why the numbers were so high, even mates without Clios ect came because "it was only £5".

LOL! Seriously?

I got sunburnt and I'm sat peeling at my desk. f**k you, CS.

If you want track time go on a track day.

This...and also kind of what Gally said. I like track, I like track days. But I wouldn't go back on track at a show ever again, far too many f**king chopstains and way too expensive for what you get. For me the chilled out, mostly chav free, atmosphere of CSS made the event. Sticking to that philosophy will see CSS grow. Getting in Russ Swift to do the same f**king show that he's been doing for the past 20 years and a load of bellends that slide slowly around a corner in a smoke cloud won't.
