Clunk click every turn..

Get that really annoying metalic clicking sound when on full lock...I think its just when on full right lock.

Reading up says cv joint which on the 182 means replacing the drive shaft.

What's the easiest way to confirm which shaft is screwed other than wait for an mot failure?

Thanks
Andy

Jack up the front, both sides. And see which one has a lot of movement.

If its the passenger side, you need to drain the gearbox oil too.

A bit off topic, but kinda ties in what with being legal and seatbelts, Ron are you a traffic cop? Or are you from another area of the force?

Not a traffic cop mate. Haven't done anyone for speeding in ten years in the job.

I now do sneaky stuff ;)

Could be the old top mount design. I fitted some washers, as Fred reccomended, ordered from dan@mad and the noise stopped for me.

Well had a look at them today...not really sure how much movement im looking for.
There seemed a small amount of front to back movement and a bit of in and out movement where the shafts go into the joints....

Guess if it is that it'll get picked up on the mot in August. ..

Undertray and splitter now done tho ;)
